Do you know what confirmation bias is? It's when you have a view point and to confirm that view point you go and find an example that confirms it, while conveniently ignoring all examples that are counter to the view point.

1. Lalor - bull
2. FOS - balanced
3. Smith - balanced
4. Ashcroft - balanced
5. Langford - bull
6. Draper - balanced
7. Smillie - bull

You just bypassed 6 examples that don't back up your point, and cherry picked Smillie as if the others don't exist.

They ended up picking the biggest bull in the paddock at #1. the whole top 7 is bull or balanced. There's no outsiders there. Other player were deemed better at the time. I also had all of those 6 before Smillie.

I don't know whether you like to be deliberately aggressive or have been 'beaten around the head so much on BF" that it's your default position, but TBH I didnt think my post deserved the response it did.

All I did was simply ask a question. No malace intended as I've never seen Sharp play & know very little about Smilie apart from a few snippets. So I wasnt trying to make a point as you say, I was actually requesting your advice from someone who seems to know a bit about football.

I'll try not to do that again in the future.

Dyson Sharp putting the entire WA team and midfield on Brazzers right now. Absolute clinic in the middle, he’s everywhere, covers the ground so well, has kicked a goal and showed genuine forward craft lately, his hands are simply incredible, they open up so many doors for his teammates. His follow up defensive work is first class as well.

I’m a big Rodriguez fan and he has been fairly classy when he has had it but has been mostly ineffective at stoppages unfortunately.

Sharp has showed there’s a pretty significant gap between them in that regard.

My preference remains Sharp and Duursma at 1 and 2 and trading up to the highest first that a team needs to trade (Port’s first the Suns own or Sydney’s) for Josh Lindsay, Noah Hibbins-Hargraves or Fred Rodriguez.

Also, Sam Cumming - incredible talent who’s so clearly going to thrive at AFL level, would be my favourite option if we didn’t move up with the Hawks first, also love Harley Barker’s game.

Guys like Mitch Marsh and Aiden Schubert shooting up the board is good for us as well.

I do this every year, where I get emotionally attached to a particular player I want us draft - this year that player is Sharp. He looks absolutely elite and would complement our midfield perfectly. Can you imagine him, Hewett and Harley lining up in the centre square next year? BSD.

Increasingly looking at the u18 championships and WC draft plans I would be happy to draft Sharp & Rodriguez with our 1st pick and Hawks 1st or trade up with the Hawks 1st and our 2nd round to get a specific player but I am not seeing elite outside of Sharp, solid balanced mid in Rodriguez and elite HB/outside in Lindsay.

Same!! Last few years we haven't drafted the ones I wanted other than Harley.

I'm really hoping for Sharp but not convinced we'll do anything expected.

Pick 1 split is probably favourite at this stage

Trade in Erasmus or Phillips/Sheldrick as another solid mid ready to go with maybe some upside and the midfield will be Harley/Hewett/Sharp/Rodriguez with help from the trade in player Erasmus and Hall developing along with Gross and B Allan.
Midfield done for the foreseeable future.

It's nothing to do with Brownlows. Cripps and Fyfe are among the best players there is over the last 15 years. Priddis wasn't so much a bull, more an possession monkey and extractor.

Rucks and KPD's control? Have you not watched Daicos play? Bont? Danger?
Rucks touch the ball every stoppage. So 50% of all stoppages (give or take) will literally be affected by them to some level.

The same with a good KPD (McGovern & Gawn even) or spare man like Rance/Moore. They can literally be on the end of 90% of every long kick.

All fine players, but they hardly control the game.

Your focus on player types is garbage. If CDT is Dean Cox level, you take that rather than spring for a worse player like Will Brodie in a predetermined role which we don't even need.
It's almost like you'rejust arguing for the sake of arguing.

Yes I am

I didn't intend malice, either. You asked, so I told you. If you wanted a watered down answer that doesn't hurt your feelings, I'm not the guy to ask.

My track record is very good. Everyone here had a cry when we took Judd over Pollack. I was almost the only one happy with Judd. Why? Not because I knew Judd would be a better player (because i didn't), but because I wanted a midfielder and didn't want a KPD. A couple of year back I said I wouldn't take Tsatas in the top 10. The other guy in that draft that i wasn't keen on was Jye Clarke.

I don't get them all right, but I know what the percentages are. Not saying it's you, but there are some posters on here who get it wrong all the time and don't have any awareness about it.

The problem with your Cox/Brodie analogy? It's like me saying you'd pick a Patrick Cripps over a Jack Watts. It means nothing.

You: I know Sharp will be like Will Brodie. I know CDT will be like Dean Cox.
Me: I don't know. I accept Sharp might be Brodie and CDT might be Cox. But I also know Sharp may be Cripps, and CDT maybe Tim English. We need another bull. It is extremely hard to find a good enough bull outside the top 5, so take the punt. Conversely there are many examples of good ruckman found outside the first round.

Your view is based on the misguided idea that you think you know how players will turn out. This is insanely arrogant. Mine is based on historical data and percentages.

If Allan does leave and we end up with 1 & 2 it’s got to be Sharp and Duursma.

Happy to take a risk on Duursma If he’s paired with Sharp. You’d then hope we can move up and grab GC’s pick 5 (Or whatever it ends up being) and maybe go more on a needs base with that pick
If we have 2 we offer it up to anyone if they want to trade up for Duursma or CDT, if we could get a pick 5 for Rodriguez/Lindsay or something + another first round pick to use this year I think that'd be good.

If we keep pick 2 I agree that Duursma, at least for now is our guy

Being fed by… Flynn. Whelp.
Ngl those three would be epic tho. Theyd all be young enough that by the time any future ruck draftee comes serviceable they’ll be in their prime.

You joined last year under this name. What were your previous names?
