Ed Allan starting to look like a genuine footballer out on the wing, rather than just an athlete.

Would be keen to ask the question of Allan and see if we can package up both Allan and Cameron.
Would be worth a punt on Ed Allan for sure. Guess the tricky part is getting him out of the Pies. Contracted for another year and I’m guessing if we offer him a solid contract then it’s going to cost a bit at the trade table.

To me though he’s in that Jordan Clarke phase, first round pick with plenty of talent and struggling to be best 22 in a powerful side. Strike if you can get him. He probably becomes one of our better players by 2027. What’s that worth?

Personally with this draft I’d be happy to be trading out late first rounders and second round picks for more mature players.

I’m not that sold on our NGA prospects either. Evan’s to me is the only must get. Pick the eyes out of the others if there’s list spots available and doesn’t cost us a lot of draft points.

I watched Caton play yesterday and he's well and truly back on my draft radar. Even losing Gov and Sheed to retirement and Allen to FA, we still need another 6 delistments to be able to take our first 3 picks plus Walley, Evans, Williams & Caton and then there is Banfield as a FS as well. If the club wants all 5 (Caton needs to continue to improve over the rest of the year but I would definitely be drafting the first 3 NGA's) we need to delist 6 and that's before we even look at trading players in.

So i've given the first 3, coming up with another 8 players to move on is a lot to be able to trade in 2 players as well. Coming up with say 8 more means all of Chesser, Bazzo, Livingstone, Hunt, Barnett, Jamieson, Petrucelle, Rawlinson are off the list.
We won't be delisting Bazzo

My thoughts too.

Wonder what it would cost? Would Hawks 1st do it?

Big Neil Erasmus selling all his match worn guernseys online. Surely not that strapped for cash.

Can only hope he wants a refresh over east. Truly think this guy is a spud, very few AFL level traits.

Apologies if a stupid question, but why does a salary cap floor exist? Probably a good reason but seems bad teams are forced to overpay players.

Dev had his chance, hopefully we don't look at him.

That's petty list management.

I'm not set on the bloke but if we go into next year having missed on Sheldrick/Phillips/Erasmus etc etc it'd be sensible adding him to our squad via DFA or SSP.

Will be 24 and provide a solid midfielder for the Beagles that tackles and consistently leads by example. Prime age bracket, good for Gross, Hall, Grego +, new draftees to learn from.

All the things Sheed wasn't in 2025.

I really like the idea of trading into future drafts as I think future picks are undervalued.

If we could trade 2R or late 1R picks to future drafts so we continue to have extra draft capital in future drafts.

Assuming we get pick 2 from Oscar FA, I think you could trade Hawks 1R for say Norths future 1R and 3R. It is a bit of a gamble but could have 2 top 5 picks again next year

So we have enough list spots for a midfielder we know is not afl quality?

IF Eagles get pick 2 ..... give it to Carlton for P Cripps , surely he cannot go through another Carlton coaching shake up .

Take Sharp with pick 1.
Absolutely HELL no

Thoughts on Tom Cole UFA?

28 and playing decent footy when fit. 4 to 5 years left in his body.

Would need to be a contender.

Pies pay enough to generate 2nd round compo pick 20.

Pick 20 to Pies for Cameron.

It was a nice dream at least..... :$

Cooking something like this for Cole and/or Petch would be like gold but can’t see getting to band 2. I’d be stoked if either got band 5 and we could use the points to trade up.

As desperate as the Pies might be to turn Darcy Cameron into Tom Cole, I can't quite see it happening.

Really swapping Oscar for P Cripps .

Great mentor for the younger players .

Anyway won't happen , once a Carlton Blue always a Blue .
No. It’s swapping pick 2 for a star, but a star that’s got a lot of miles on him that if you’re lucky would get 2 good years out of. Would be negligence to make that trade.

Pick 2 could only be traded for an AA level mid who is 24 or younger.

It would be Darcy Cameron into Tom Cole and pick 20 in that scenario
Even then, why would they?

Cameron is right at the peak of his powers and they're trying to scrape a few more flags.

Maybe if Carlton were sending us pick 8ish along with Cripps…
