its not a bad collection in that draft after we selected koby Stevens in that 28-44 range. Duncan, Gunston, Gawn, sam Reid, astury.

makes you wanna break a coffee table.

Ouch 372 games of reminder pain. That must have hurt.

Oh you have no idea.

He won the 1997 TAC Cup grand final for the North Ballarat Rebels ( who were the underdogs ) he won the Medal for BOG kicked a lazy six goals.

I thought he was a monty to be drafted in the top 20.

AS they say the rest is history.

Due to lack of personel, Bazzo has been forced to play as a lockdown KPD. However, his greatest strength is intercepting, or playing as a spare. I really think hes worth keeping and developing. Showed alot before all the injuries

In an ideal world Edwards would be full back, Sandy CHB and Bazzo the third tall. But what to do with Ginbey?

We sort of have to though, because we dont have any who can teach the younger mids their craft (Yeo is functionally dead and Kelly isnt a leader's arseh*le).

Think what we'll do is use Pick 1 on the best available mid in the draft (hopefully Sharp) and shop Pick 2 around for that experienced mid we need to find.
Did that last year, so HELL NO!

Well in fairness to Goroyals22 the selection of Golden Showers before Duncan was a real head scratcher - a massive WTF pick.

In fact, I remember throwing the TV remote across the room accompanied by multiple very loud profanities echoing through the house, when the pick was announced.

Wasn't the worst example of me losing my shit on Draft Day that went to 1997 National Draft Day, when after taking Jaxon Crabb, Callum Chambers and then Rowan Jones with picks 12, 13 and 28.

Then at pick 34 I was screaming out this players name ( name coming ) and then we called out Andrew Williams - not happy.

Then three picks latter at 37 I was thinking time for redemption ( I was yelling his name out once more ) and then we called out Todd Holmes .

I was distraught when the player that who's name I had been screaming out then went with pick 43 .

Adam Goodes.

We took David Antonowitz wt the next pick 44.

Let's just say that Mrs Monocle was not at all happy with the carry on.
I was called infantile and in the dog house for a few days ... and yes I did have to replace the damaged coffee table.

Legend has it that whenever the Eagles played the Swans roars of "Boooooo!!! you suck Merrington!!" would spontaneously erupt every time Adam went near the ball.

Not a bad idea tbh. 4 year contract, just wheel him out as a player 2 games a year and be an assistant coach.

Saves the soft cap and its not like theres many are players in this squad that demand top dollar.

For the right player yes.

If this or a similar deal for an experienced player / coaching role occurs it suggests some deeper cuts coiming. Will not be surprised as our list just doesnt have enough mature leaders.

We will use at least 4 live picks before NGA kids x 2 or 3.

And hence why a couple of extra rookie spots would help in a big way.

Thought in the Kelly extension.

Should Liam Ryan move then Kelly being around as a leadship figure now makes a fair bit more sense.

Ryan in contract what would the Saints need to get him?

People are thinking way too much about Duncans potential impact on-field.

He might not even play a game for us if he came over, I wouldnt expect him to play more than a couple.
He'd be recruited as more of an extra assistant coach

Would be a good get, especially if we get an extra list spot or two
Would garner a fair bit of knowledge/ inside info about a very well run club having him and Harry Taylor in the coaching rankes.

Then recruit him solely as a coach. Don’t waste anything on him as a player.

We should have appointed Stephen King if that’s what we are after. We don’t have the players do anything that other clubs do, culture and systems are built over a long period of time.
I am not anti having someone like Duncan in the coaching box but I do not want or think we need him on the field. Let him officially retire and then see if he has any interest in joining us as a coach.

Personally don't mind if he runs out a few times but spends the majority in the WAFL, would be very happy to have him in the coaching rankes, coming from outside the WC bubble can only be a good thing.

I get the impression the Duncan signing would be an admission our on field leaders need developing and he will be a short term gap to fill the void. Plus, he comes from a winning culture. Don’t underestimate the mental side to winning. It becomes habitual, the same way losing is.

What do we lose bringing him on, with a coaching lure at the end. Not much, I don’t think. I don’t hate us looking at him.

Lose a list spot, somehow it’s pretty tight this year.
