Hardest of passes for us.
In terms of positional needs, or the kind of character we want while trying to rebuild our culture, he is bottom of the pile. Wouldn't take him for free.

It'd be amazing if a bloke who 18months ago looked like he might soon become in the best few forwards in comp, can no longer find a home. Seems a real possibility though

Perhaps brisbane might put their hand up.
What a terrible take.

We're trying to build a premiership side from scratch. You can't have players who won't even do the bare minimum for his team mates. Maybe he's just had a fall out and has acted unprofessionally? Do you risk him being able to change? What if he has a drug problem? He won't change until he cures the drug problem.

This one is not for us. He's for a middling team who don't have access to top draft talent and need a boost to get them to top 4. Or Brisbane might take a punt because their leaders wouldn't accept any BS.

Can't be any worse than our current leaders - look at these captains

Duggan - Is he afl standard? B grader.
Oscar - doesn't even play and openly meets with opposition coaches over his future. Terrible for culture.

What a terrible take.
Why would we want juh? Half this thread is taking about what we can get for our KPF captain becuase we have so many talls.

Last thing we need is another KPF. Jamarra is talented but is obviously a lost cause.

He is a high talent low trust player and we are not ina position to take that kind of risk right now.

What are you talking about?

What you mentioned is a drop in the ocean compared to jamarra’s issues.

The "what about" argument.

"What about these other similarly (badly behaved/low standard etc) examples? That makes everything ok, right?"

No, toots.

Not sure where the 'board' got to on Fiorini (Gold Coast) but a little piece on his recent weekend game.

"But the staggering performance of Brayden Fiornini is arguably the best of the round from an individual perspective.

Fiorini's stat line read like this: 47 disposals, 13 marks, eight clearances, six tackles and 189 ranking points."

Chris Scott already said Geelong are not opposed to having "dangerous" conversations when recruiting players.

Even mentioned people criticising them for it. Thats a conversation on BF getting more airtime. Geelong not afraid of trading in players with drug issues. At the same time the Eagles would never consider that as an option. Media would go to town if the Eagles traded in a player with drug issues. Yet other clubs it doesnt even rate a mention.

Apparnetly no Victorian club is willing to talk Jamarra.

Also, Geelong is in a very different position to us. There are no question marks over their application and standards and culture.

We have questions marks on all 3 and have had to bring players in from another club to help us with those things while we develop young talent.

That is not a club that is currently in a position bring in a trouble person with the issues Jamarra does.

Finally West Coast doing someone left field.....BONT.

Can someone give any insight what the compensation would be, and how it would affect Oscar's Band 1 pick? Otherwise, what sort of trade would it cost.

I would love to do Sam Mitchell deal for Pendles too. The benefit to have these guys involved in the club. This is why I would pay $$$$ via the NGA so you can get them in the front door post footy.

The Bont thing is pure fantasy. Why would he leave the club he loves to come to a team on the other side of the country and at the bottom?

If it did happen, it would suggest that the following are also on the cards:
  • Oscar staying because getting the Bont will screw our FA compo
  • Warner not coming (so the Bont is a stop gap and gets the Warner cash)
  • Or maybe Harley leaving, so Bont is a stop gap and gets the Harley money

I have a bad feeling we don't get Warner or Bont and Oscar and Harley leave.
Unfortunately you are bang on. As much as we like to fantasise, there is no way that Bont decides to play for us, the Chad is definitely signing on for two years at Sydney and Oscar is leaving (which I'm not too disappointed about). Harley leaving appears to be the only scenario that no one can get a firm read on, but him requesting a trade wouldn't shock anyone either.

If he wants to resume his career JUH will need to get out of Melbourne so I think Port Adelaide will take JUH or Geelong if he is cut ..

Captained WA 18s and SD Colts ...one day maybe , stay fit .
swagger in spades ♠️
He needs to go back to that Mad Max II haircut he was rocking in the Champs. Made him look like a bad campaigner. Someone here has it as their avatar. Less Scotch College, more Lockridge.

Why would they accept less than the compensation pick?

He’s unrestricted. They don’t have to accept any trade, they just tell the AFL they’ll take the compo pick.

If you want to trade, to protect the Oscar Allen compensation pick, it would be incumbent on West Coast to offer something more than the compensation pick, for the Bulldogs to want to accept a trade.

I think Bont has given outstanding service to the Dogs so I doubt that they will styme any fair offer and force him to stay ..

For a change of subject.....Warner Bros. No not that Warner Bros., the Warner brothers.
Here's a little (true)story pretty much about nothing and taking you nowhere. Anyway......
My mother-in-law is in a nursing home. Not too long ago after the passing of a resident across the corridor from her room an elderly gentleman moved in and my wife soon mentioned he had a sign on his door "Swans fans only". I noticed the sign on one occasion I visited the MIL but didn't pay attention to his name on the door or the sign.

The nursing home has a regular news letter and yesterday my wife says to me, the chap in the nursing home had a visit by two of his grandsons, they both play footy. After she confirmed they played for the Sydney Swans and confirmed that his name was Warner she showed me the news letter photo of both Chad and Corry with their grandfather, and another photo of them with one of the staff. As I said, pretty much a story about nothing, taking you nowhere.

But if only I had visited that day I could have wielded by considerable ability at influencing people to convice Chad to join West Coast at the end of the year. :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::winkv1:

Sorry... but what a stupid move.

Whatever we are throwing at Bont, we should be throwing at Allen. Allen is 3 years younger, is more upside.

Suspect it would effectively wipe out our Allen compo.

Best bet would be to try and split OA compo to trade for Bont a pick higher than the dogs would get for band 1. Similar to when Danger left the Crowbots.

Allen is done, out of form not providing anything. He leaves, it means Pick 2!!!!

Purely from a game perspective groundball, contests have been a failure for us for years. Bont doesnt fix this but it doesnt mean we have games like we had against Carlton that is unfathomable.

Bont's leadership, standards and skills along with Yeo, Baker, Graham and Kelly can help lead the way for Reid, Hewett, Gross, Bo Allan, Hall, Johnston, Chesser, Hutchinson, Dewar, Davis, Greggo.

The flow on effect for the beagles cannot be understated, and I would target Bont just for his final years I would want to make sure he is has some role going into the club post footy - Beagles, NGA or AFL.

I am not saying this is a done deal, but if we can swing it WITHOUT ****ing Allen's Compo then we should do it. PSD please!!!!!
