I for one am excited at the potential of a 2nd mid-season draft sugar hit - and it only cost us the remainder of the season for our best forward (joining our best defender and best midfielder no less).

Oh well, bring on the next Connor West! Jai Culley!...Ryan Maric?...

Good to hear Sellwood & Murdock are ahead of Parfait for our 2nd pick.

The one downside I think is that Parfitt is proven to be able to get his hands on the pill at AFL level, something we are lacking.

If we take McCarthy do we need another HB/Mid?

Just hope we take a genuine mid, not another guy with midfield potential that ends up on the fat wing...

Yes, Murdock is an interesting one, he wins almost every award available to him for the last couple of years and keeps racking up good numbers.
For a 24yo player he is a little on the smaller side, but he might be that mid/fwd type that can rotate through the midfield at AFL level, bit of Tom Gross type?

Let's be honest here. The pool consists of those that haven't been selected in the full draft or rookie draft or as a supplementary selection for (mostly) quite a few years despite sticking their hands up.

That said, it is possible to find a gem, just unlikely.

Of the ones we've had Maric looks pretty solid and the move back has helped both him and the club. Selections like that can be invaluable long term if you end up with a 100+ game player.
Culley turned out to be a bust but it is what it is.

If we end up with another best 22 then I'll be happy. If we end up with a 150 gamer I'll be ecstatic.

Really hope we don’t take Murdock, don’t see him playing a game of AFL. Take the best talent or the low floor/high ceiling type. Having reviewed more of Stumpf over the last few days I’d be pretty happy to select him.

So excited about your input over the next couple of days

Have any of the draft watching journos linked sellwood to a particular club pre draft or is he just generally considered amongst the top chances? From the limited amount I've seen i wouldn't mind a throw at the stumps with him as a future back pocket.

Im seeing not a chance to get past the dogs

Take the consensus number 1 then pick the former AFL player who is tearing it up in the WAFL. Worst case Parfitt becomes a very good pick up for the Beagles.

Would not be unhappy with that result.

Parfitt (26) replaces Sheed (27) who unfortunately bows out early due to injury. Parfitt a premiership Geelong player who has moved to WA and played well.

Can play wing or inside.

Pick 1 is the best available :whitecheck:

Then we bank as depth a proven 26 yr old proven AFL Geelong premiership player.

I see from your posting that you’ve finally learnt the difference between draft and trade. So proud of you.

Hopefully sustained coherent sentences are next 👍.
Can tell me again that bedtime story where we trade and swap a heap of draft picks for the Gold Coast ruckman, that would be awesome.

Funny you mention that because you’ve always come across as someone that needs a bedtime story to go to sleep.

There’s a few posters who share that view on Moyle, but it would be wasted on a bloke who thinks we can just draft an 18yo AFL ready one instead.

I think you could almost guarantee that our second MSD pick will be from WA and on a 6 month contract.

As much as Dennis is tempting, is a young KPD returning from injury likely going to have the opportunity to show enough in six months to warrant consideration for a further contract? Or are they better off being left in the WAFL until the end of the season where we might revisit him as a rookie selection?

Sellwood would be great, but Murdock or Parfitt might be what we are left with.

Yep, Agreed.

If he is undrafted, offer Dennis and Kane Bevan types a WAFL contract with the Eagles so they can train with the AFL side through the summer and we know where they stand for next MSD or possibly SSP if we have a spot.

Isn’t Sheed 30?
