Maybe we really are into CDT...Does he have to be pigeonholed as a Ruck?

Perhaps we're looking at the next generation of hybrid big bodied midfielder.
Freo will play Darcy as a Ruck and LJ as the BBM in some structures.

He looks a smooth mover, doesn't seem to get too rush with high agility (for size) and clean first touch.

Yeah perhaps CDT is something similar to what we wanted Curtin to be, but also has the capacity to be a chop out ruckman like Jackson or Nash or something

Why are being such a whining bitch like I bangt your boyfriend or something?

These are the players everyone wants (in rough order):

Sharp, Lindsay, Cumming, Duursma.

And more importantly, I'd suggest the Eagles also want one of those players. None of them are likely to slide to 8. So why do the trade?

Stop carrying on like a jilted lover and being personal.
Well done Village🤣

I know this will trigger the draft mafia but It would’ve been so good if the Chad Warner thing was still on for next year. Adding him, Yeo (hopefully) and pick 1 and likely Hawks pick to the mix would’ve been huge and full midfield pre season to Harley, Hough and Hewett.

Harley
Warner
Yeo
Sharp
Hough
Hewett
Cumming

Set and forget for 10 years (besides Yeo)

Tall players need longer to prove they're crap, shorter players need less time to prove they're good
Generally the case...Always exceptions to the rule.

Short players with really large dicks that make them off balance for example.

Or would that be an advantage instead? Like the huge pendulum in Taipei 101 which helped it survive a massive earthquake. Gargantuan counter balance.

No wonder I can't hold my feet :tonguewink:

Might be an advantage with mega fans such as yourself

Dunno about Brander but I'm quickly becoming a huge fan of Shanahan.

He's going to be something really special!

Me too, and I didn't want us to draft him with our second(before trades/shenanigans)
I wanted more mids but getting him where we did was a steal

I was actually just thinking the same thing. Shake the tree again. Offer him something outlandish as the cap space has freed up more now, and hand over pick 2.

Just get out of your head Yeo ever being what he was for us again.

The damage done to his ankle is clearly significant enough to hinder him ever returning to his explosive best.

We may see him play again for us but not as the Elliot Yeo we remember and need.
Even if he does return he will be 32 and the game will have gone past him.

I hope I am wrong but sadly don't think I am.
It's time to move on.

I won't say he's cooked until we see if he can get on the park again. When that happens at this stage I hope it isn't this year. Although I'll admit it sounds like he's really up against it.

We need to find a Ben Keays type. Went to crows as someone who wasn’t rated, gave 2-3 years very good service in midfield before being pushed out but playing very well as a forward
Odds are you strike out but they are out there
We desperately need someone senior and reliable who provides a contest and averages 25 in the midfiled because we can’t run with this young midfield for the next couple years and expect to win more than a few games .
Not the same type of player but I’d happily throw our start of second rounder and a good three year contact at Worpel. Whether he’d want to come might be a different matter

Worpel is a RFA and wont move from Melbourne.

Graham is what you just described.

Dev Robertson can play mid and forward, and yes we do need another mature mid / forward to help carry the load.

Dev would be the closest thing to always. Kicking suspect but will give his all. Does he have the IQ of Keays around goals?

Can anyone give me a reason why we shouldn't chuck our hat in the ring for TDK?

Try n sell him the sea change story, play with a group of kids, build something together etc

Obv gonna cost a lot but there's your 8-10 year ruckman

1) He’s not worth the contract value reportedly being offered by St Kilda
2) He costs us the Oscar Allen FA compo which we’d lose by bringing DeKoning in - so no pick 2

Rather we use the draft pick and spend the cap space elsewhere

ok 👍

I wonder if WC list management see this years draft as 3 picks, NGA FS and done.

Use all their other picks to upgrade our list as much as reasonably possible and cut hard to achieve this?

IMO, Cameron, Buss, McVee in and cut to make it happen.
The way upgrade our list is use our draft power and $$$ salary cap to achieve this, which I think they are doing behind the scenes it seems.
I wonder how many players and targets are achievable?

For all the talk of keeping players to see how they perform, 3 years on a list is enough to see if they are AFL quality.
The only player from this group I would keep is Bazzo as depth.
Livingstone has more talent and effort than Barnett ever will and its an easy decision which 1 to keep.

I would even be inclined to go hard at our next level down if the opportunity warrants it.
Does Johnston deserve to see out his contract?
Probably as he was good last year, but seems to have regressed a fair bit.
Do we go after more 21-24yo players to complement our list?
Is this K Bevan from WP on a rookie pick, Phillips, Erasmus, Robertson or a combination of a couple?
Yes this.

3 early picks and NGA/FS.

Use any other available draft capital to trade in mature bodies. Cameron mcvee Phillips.
Cameron gives our mids more opportunity.
Mcvee slots into Duggan's/Coles role, or even allow Ruben some midfield time (no melts)
Phillips to make the mids compete for spots.
Rookie dev for shits and giggles.😅

Yep, I think we go all 4 NGAs and FS. 3 picks in the open draft (why I don’t understand the pick split), 3 trade ins, mature players, Ruck, KPD and mid. Plus the 2 MSD picks retain there spots.

That’s 12 list spots on the main list that need to be opened up if we do want all our NGAs/FS.

GONE (7 main list spots)
Gov
Sheed
Petch
Jamieson
Hunt
Allen
Rawlinson* (create a rookie spot for Cripps*)
Barnett

LIKELY (8)
Chesser

MAYBE (4?)
Ryan? (If he wants out)
Cole (doubt it)
Bazzo (I doubt it and shouldn’t be imo)
Bailey Williams (trade*)
Cripps (re rookie? Gunstan style)
Livingstone (doesn’t really create a spot)
