2025 Draft Order

Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13
Round 2: 34, 41
Round 3: 53, 58 (These picks are in excess of available list spots so will be forfeited if we don’t consolidate our 2025 picks up the order or trade some for future picks)

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

* Matthew Clarke has stated we have 5 main list spots

Matt Clarke wraps up the trade period - 6PR

Lachlan McGlade next year, too. I know his exposed form is from when he was 4 foot tall, but he might be the best of the lot.
Feel like Hutchinson might be underrated if he played the Cripps role. Has a good tank to run laps of Optus like Cripps does but he also has a good jump and mark. With all the Wingers we have he could be bumped to the forward pocket.

I agree Duursma has Morton vibes 100% but also he seems a clear no1 pick and we probably have another FOMO situation

Sharp and Cumming, 2 SA kids coming in together would be choice 👌

but twomeys last phantom draft had them 9 and 15 which makes me think just take the no.1 rated
Duursma shows an appetite for the contest that Morton never did. Duursma also has a much larger frame that will add muscle to ensure his appetite is matched by ability.

Have no concerns about him being a morton. Also think Morton's development was royally stuffed by Melbourne during the time, they crushed many draftees then.

Since when has Trade week been so active, its hard to keep up.

Initial thoughts on the trade good that it was done early, disappointed we gave our first pick for day 2. I still think we could have played hardball, but if it was done to unlock something further in the week, so be it.

Don't know where is best for Hutch.

Maybe A Mark Hutchings 100% tagging role lol

"Don't even try n get the ball bro"

So with Clark saying the Young trade should be straight forward. It wouldn't surprise me if pick 37/38 is already on the table, but now also having pick 50/51, I wonder if Richmond will accept that instead. We could even chuck in 57/58 if it gets it over the line. It's reasonably close to what we paid for Brockman.

We've got Williams and possibly Walley coming in. Dewar could spend more time forward, and you also forgot Newton. Maric and Hutchinson are other taller options that don't play tall and could play forward.

If Hutchinson is going to make it, its going to be fwd... just seems to be going backwards being asked to roles which doesn't have the attributes to play (i.e. great hands for marking, not so for distributing at stoppages).

Play the kid to his strengths and if he fails, part ways honourably.

Assuming that pick one is off the table, we can probably kiss the pick 5+6 dream goodbye.

However, if Essendon are desperate for Robey or CDT, I’d be really keen to explore a pick 2 + F2 for pick 5 + F1 trade. Could still probably get Sharp if that is done.

This is why marriages fail constant negativity +. Harping on and on about supposed past failings . How you hurt me .

Not sure if that's criticism or praise for Clarke?
That's how good marriages work, both the husband and wife put the others interests ahead of their own.

Matt CLarkes marriage would never fail. He always keeps his promises and does everything to make his partner happy even if it means ruining his life as a consequence

Agree, He should be given a chance forward. That's his best chance. Was painful watching him try and be a winger.

Would rather we spend a few spots on stand out state league players who haven't had their chance yet than a few names touted who will provide the same for the Beagles yet have proven not up to AFL standards.

Also zero interest in Swallow.
Harry Scott in the vfl is one we should target. 191cm inside mid who moved from a wing to IM this season and flourished

I'm only a relative newcomer to this forum, does anyone know who started this Duursma is a Morton comparison crap.
Cale played 40 games with Melbourne in his first 2yrs and had some reasonable stats but dropped off badly after that.
The other brother played in Sydneys 2012 premiership team. Would be great if Willem emulates him and plays in at least one for us.

I think we need 1 consistent midfielder in that lot too. From Berry/Macrae/Schonberg id go Schonberg I think. Other 1 id like to take is Blamires.

Think the last 2 spots go to Williams and Evans with Banfield as the main list guy
