This would be nice:

Ess Get Haw Pick 9 as part of Merrett trade.
Trade 2 to Ess for 5+9.
Trade 13+34+53 to Car for 10.

Draft:
1. Duursma
5. Sharp
9 & 10. Two of Cumming, Farrow, Dovaston
41. Williams
58. Banfield
Cumming and dovaston wont be there.

At picks 6 Essendon, 7 8 dees. Both clubs losing mids in trade and needs mids like us.

In open draft here's my top 8.

1 Duursma
2 CDT
3 Robey
4 Grjl
5 Sharp
6 Taylor
7 Cumming
8 doverston
9
10

Leaves Lindsay, HH, farrow Greaves Shubert, marsh philapoo.

Maybe take Shubert and phillipoo then.

Personally I'd prefer to go 2 13 for 5 6.

Duursma
Sharp
Cumming.

34 for bid match or maybe a slider.

Are we sure that GCS are trading both 7 and 8 to Melbourne?

It seems there’s been no progress on the deal this week, which suggests both picks being handed over may be a point of contention. Don’t think I’ve heard anyone report categorically that both picks are heading to Melbourne?

I still think ideally GCS want to send pick 7 to us to avoid the bids. Maybe the discussion is 7,8 with 24 coming back vs 8,15 with less salary paid by Melbourne.

Essendon should consider taking that but they won't.

They make the people running our club look like stable geniuses.

Allen doesn't have the pack busting ability of Curnow. But he would have been free as opposed to the significant draft capital Sydney are having to offer for Curnow. So it's hard to understand why Sydney didn't try and get involved and make him an offer as a free agent.
Its the Witherden factor

I'd say it's the sticking point. If they get rid of 7 and 8 it makes it tough for them to match on both Uwland and Patterson.

They could

8 for 13 34 41 to us

7 13 for petracca... Which is plenty.!!

1 2 8 for us would mean we would likely miss one of sharp or cumming.

Duursma
Sharp
Slider

Duursma
Cumming
Slider.

I think both sharp and cumming would be of interest to bombers at 5 6 and dees at 7. Sharp might be the slider, so we take cumming at 2 and cross fingers. If he was taken before 8 it would leave one of dovaston, Shubert though. It might be if this our draft hand, we have to make a choice on who we prefer at 2.

Well he has undeniable talent, and we have extra rookie list spots....

Weren't Swan Districts looking at him this season? Did he end up playing anywhere this year?
Pretty sure he came over and they decided against it. Believe there was a bit of negative feedback about the idea from both the men's and women's teams

I would take it if i was Essendon given the ill will between the club and Merrett.
I would make the Hawks sell the farm and then some for their shady dealings this year. And I dont mean speaking to players. Im talking about deliberately leaking the chats to the media to cause friction at the target club. Merrett and Allen the case in point. Only way the media found out about both of these was from Mitchell or the hawks leaking it.

Wtf what happened. I thought essedon said Zach is staying. Then Hawks stumped up a predictable offer and dons are open????

Surely when they said they were not keen they could have seen that predictable offer
