How do you rate this draft in terms of talent and depth across the positions?

Really hard to determine. Comparing boys in WA playing PSA v those playing Colts v those playing league v those playing country footy in Vic or Tas v those who are metro Melb and have hardly played in 2 years. And these last 2 years are probably the most important in terms of footy development in the teenage years.

So projections are really difficult.

But in answer to your question - 2 or 3 above a list of 10-12 then another group of 20.
Talls not as dominant as in past but still some reasonable quality. Mids lack real top end quality in large numbers but those considered above average are quite numerous.

Lions are really tight on for list places, especially now Neale has snubbed Fremantle for the second time in 3 years.

There is a feeling that Cameron will be asking for a move to Brisbane.
There is a feeling we may well lose Brander to Hawks for a trade (target one of their second rounders in the 20's)

We target the second of the Lions R1 picks (currently pick 18 tied to Melbourne). It may become 16 if they lose tonight. It provides us with another R1 meaning we tick off in using 2 x R1 picks this year and gets us current on using them.

We offer up Cameron and our second rounder for 2022 (likely outcome as it stands now would be a finish in positions 6 to 11 which would be say pick 24 to 29) plus a swap of later picks for the current pick 18. That would value Cameron as a pick in the 50's.

We go to the draft with: -
10 - MJ balanced mid
18 - Roberts or a similar inside mid like Hobbs
21/24 - Bazzo KPP
29 - Dittmar inside mid (or Browne or Warner)

Rest is points for Regan - 3rd tall forward in academy

I think he wants to step away from West Coast. I am speculating that he wants to return to Queensland.

He has significant upside and Lions would be keen to have him as against letting him go to the Suns.
