So the 2021 season is officially done and dusted.

It’s time now to fully turn our attention to the off season and what we can do through the trade period/draft to chase down Melbourne in 2022.

List and personnel changes have already been made and I’ll update this OP as and when any further changes are made.

GWS forward Bobby Hill has broken down in tears this afternoon with his trade request to Essendon hanging by a thread.

The stress of the situation has clearly taken a toll on the Giants’ forward and his pregnant partner, Georgia, who are seeking a move to Melbourne on compassionate grounds to be closer to family.

News Corp understands Hill, 21, shed tears this afternoon while on the phone to football officials connected to the deal, desperate to start afresh in Melbourne next season.

Collingwood has spoken to Hill and is keen to get involved, however the electric Giants’ forward – who averaged nine possessions a game this season – is adamant he wants to wear red and black in 2022.

Ryan Daniels was also on radio saying before trade period Brander was told he wouldn’t get a contract so may explain how this has played out.

Really mixed feelings on Brander.

I have been beating the drum for a long while that we have been butchering his development and he has every right to be pissed off.

Now that he's looking like leaving for nothing I kinda want him dead.

I still think the club is looking like a total basket case atm, strange times.
