What the article didn't say was there was a meeting between Brander's management and the club whether he should stay at the club or not. Despite the views of some, West Coast still rate him extremely highly and want him to stay beyond 2021.
A commitment to train him as a KPP was what saw him stay at the club this trade period, and the club and Brander will work through whether he leaves or not at the end of next year.
At Least he will have some exposed form as a KPP next year, and if he chooses to leave for more opportunity, that might increase his value in a trade.
Personally I think Brander moving to the backline is the best thing for him, and it won't be too long before he is knocking on the door to get in to the B22 as a third tall.
