Good question.

But another one I would like to know is who is out of contract at the end of 2010 because Gold coast can take one uncontracted player then.

Hopefully they take Brad Miller, assuming he is still around by then and his contract will allow them to do so.

I honestly feel that the GC team is getting far too many concessions, they get all of the nation's best kids, access to uncontracted players who could be stars already, as well as a ridiculous salary cap. I know they need some advantages to start up, but it just seems as if the AFL have gone slightly overboard.

I agree, they are looking for instant success to build support in the region & will do anything to get it because success is the only thing that will draw people initially.

The Issue I see is they will have a team ready to have a crack at a flag in 2013-15 which I see as our window. They can buy ready made players while thier youngsters get the needed experience.

I will spew up if we were to miss out on a flag again because of the Goald Coast.

Melbourne are only going to bring in 6 - maximum 7 players at seasons end.

Those defintely going:

Robbo
Whelan
and porbbably Junior

Valenti will struggle to hold his position - although did his chances no harm the last two weeks.

Bell would go (but I have a feeling he is still contracted)

Say thats 4 so far.

Bartram wants to go apparently - so he may be traded for a 3rd round pick.

THis leave 1-2 more to get rid of.

THey won't pick players up in the draft just becuase they have the picks. Given it will be a shallow draft - the maximum they will get is 6-7 - at the ABSOLUTE MOST

6-7 player turn over is alot, almost max. Last year saw
Watts
Blease
Strauss
Jetta
Bennell
Bail
Jurrah
(7)

Wouldn't be surprised if we only turned over 4 or 5 if the draft is as shallow as they say. No need to pick list cloggers. Also depends on the Pre Season draft and rookie promotions. Worthwhile promoting Valenti, McNamara or McKenzie rather than use a 5th or 6th round draft pick?

Would be very suprised if Bartram really did want to move, could not see anyone picking him up if he is looking for regular first team football. His best chance is at Melbourne.

Do we know why Bartram would want out?

I think he will only ever be a depth player, and might have delisted any way, though have alsways liked his attitude and work ethic.

Oh and his girlfriend on the Footy Show a month or so back!!

Wonamerri was upgraded so we had to find 8 spots last year.

Valenti is a rookie. If he gets delisted, it won't make a difference to our primary squad.

6 is a good number. Pick 1, 3, 20, 36, 51, PSD1.

Delist Jmac, Wheatley, Robbo, Whelan, PJ, Bell.

If Bell, Newton, PJ are contracted. I look at Tommy Mac, Bail, Cheney, Dunn, Buckley.

Keep Spencer on that 3rd year rookie option. Keep Jordie Mckenzie. Delist the rest.

Bell & Johnson are contracted and the club can ill afford to pay them out

Retire:
Robbo, JMac, Whelan.

Trade:
Bartram (if he does want out), Bell, possibly Miller & Wheatley.

De-List:
Danny Hughes, Shane Valenti, Trent Zomer & one Ruckman (out of PJ, Meesen & Spencer).

That's 11 off the top of my head, so some will stay (most likely Miller won't go anywhere, & Bartram if he doesn't want to leave)
