There are two major differences.

1) Geelong are a more a evenly spreed team and in 2007 Westcoast were decimated with injuries. Cousins, Kerr & Judd all missed the finals. Three standout players in the same position of the ground.

2) In 2006 Westcoast lost a final and won two close ones including the GF by 1 point. They were the best team for the year but nothing compared to the dominance of Geelong.

You would have been better served using Essendon 2001 as your argument.
a win is a win, and I was catering to those with short memories. The longer ago something was, the better/worse it gets.

Ricketts I hope not either, but Stevie J has had his moments recently. Albeit on a much less sinister level

believe me geelong supporters none of you would like to go through what wce supporters went through last year. thinking we had the flag in the bag then all of a sudden problem after problem, injury after injury, loss after loss. after cousins final arrest i came to the point where i felt i never wanted to watch the game again however its 08 and im still here ;)

no matter what favouritism will always follow you around if you are the best in the league however one small mishap and youre on the pileheap.

i think the ones who are talking you up the most is your own supporters.
I think someone needs to check who has started all the threads about Geelong lately. Apart from a couple from GC26 (we have not time for him) they have nearly all been started by opposition supporters.

There is an element of that, for sure. Also the fellatio squad of the Hun are doing a great job at keeping all shafts glistening. Don't get me wrong, I think we're playing an awesome style of football and I have been waiting my whole life for this success, I just don't want people ruining it by going over the top.

Interesting thing about that post. This current Geelong team beat that WC team by 40pts. Until a team beats us by 40pts we will be favorites. And if you scan down the list of teams, only a handful look like they can beat us, let alone by 6+ goals.

Since round 6 last year we have lost 1 regular season game and one three finals, two by over 100pts. That is dominance of the entire league to the likes that we as Cats supporters may never see again. So sit back and enjoy it as know doubt eventually it will come to and end, lets just hope it is in 2012 rather than round 12!

I think Geelong are an extremely good side.
However, that doesn't mean I want them to win the flag. I'd love to see them crash and burn, as unlikely as it is.
