A very relevant poll considering Melbourne drafted two in 2003 and one in 2005, while the Bulldogs also drafted two in 2003 and one in 2005. In all, Melbourne's draft picks here are four picks behind the Bulldogs'.
Cooney (1), Ray (4), Higgins (11)
vs
Sylvia (3), McLean (5), Jones (12)
It's very close IMO. If I had to choose which one I'd rather, I'd probably just lean towards the Demons' three. I think Sylvia being the forward makes the difference - Bulldogs just have three players who will all eventually spend most of their time in the midfield.
Again, comparing the players, both Cooney and McLean are the current stars of their teams' three players, but both have suffered problems with OP.
Ray and Sylvia have both showed glimpses but are yet to produce consistent football, but 2006 was their best seasons so you can expect both to improve even more in 2007.
Higgins and Jones are very, very even and still far too early to tell who will be better, let alone who currently is better. Both second year players are well on their way to playing every match this season if available. Jones has some kudos (like McLean) for his effort in the U18s TAC Grand Final (he would have won the B.O.G award like McLean did if the Power had have beaten the Stingrays), so they have already proven they can perform on the big stage.
I expect this poll to be as close to fifty/fifty as possible.
