From what I've seen Cooney is far better. That said I didn't say Melbournes game last weekend where Sylvia actually chose to do something.

You bulldogs are lost! Cooney attended a screening..where the same tests are done...i.e 20m and vertical jump. Sylvia beat him in both of these. Not to mention the skinfold tests! Cooney definately plays like a hird. What are you smoking you toss. At a football club I would prefer a Sylvia type because he is a ferocious tackler and just remember this. He did play in the same team as Andrew Walker and played about half the season with OP and still won the best and fairest. HUge upside!

How does he remind you of Hird? I would love to hear your explanation. Cooney is quicker, more explosive than Hird. Hird plays taller then Cooney as we have all seen Hird's ability to outmark opponents one on one. Wheras Cooney when resting forward relies on his pace and plays much more as a leading forward. If anything Cooney reminds me more of a Buckley then Hird. Lets all face the facts here.... Cooney is the only standout in that draft. The rest, well, they can just make up the numbers.

Also, im glad you brought up Sylvia's upside cause I dont think we have even scratched the surface of Cooneys predigous talent.

BTW, Could you post the results of the screening. I would be interested in seeing those. Skinfold tests... Pfft. Whos gives a ********; I dont think Sylvia's 7% body fat has helped him get a kick.

the funny thing is that they carnt Test there footy brain who cares if there .2secs quicker then another player if they can not find the ball

How did Sylvia go in the rising star last year?
Cooney came 3rd and played some great games at the end of the year

Cooney is a good player, and will be a ballwinning goalsneak, but will be inconsistent at frustrating at time

Sylvia will be an out and out superstar, captain and will break games open at will

They can both find the goals and have great awareness, but the massive gap is toughness and brutality - Sylvia hits the man like a runaway train, is an exceptional over head mark and tackes better than anyone I have seen

And why do u think Cooney will be inconsistent? He's only in his second year and he's already performing quite consistently. Last week was his first genuinely poor game for the year. Cooney is doing what Sylvia did last week on a weekly basis

At this stage it would be fairer to Sylvia to compare him to guys like Walker and Farren Ray

Whats makes Cooneys consistency so impressive is that he is doing it with a tagger pretty much each week. The only tag Sylvia would get is if he was playing in the VFL.

Zipedee ********ing doo da. I'm fed up with people thinking these tests are so critically important. I would pick a very good footballer over an excellent athlete. Like Sam Newmans been saying, to many athletes trying to play football.

That's a fair call that I would agree with, but Sylvia is far more a footballer than an athlete. This is a stupid poll and a more accurate version would be Cooney vs McLean. I'd take Cooney now, but in the future I'd take Sylvia.

You idiot. Every club in the league would take Cooney over Sylvia and everyone on here barring Melbourne fans would also. Sylvia isn't in the same league as Cooney.
