Tbh - now any Copeland or Brownlow nick wins will be received with comments like “he only won coz they changed the voting system ect”

Do you remember bucks blabbing about Lynch meeting ?

Remember what happened when lynch was choosing between us and tigers ?

A "no comment" would have provided more speculation. At least Fly made a light hearted joke of it.

Silvalgni was out of contract & had told Carlton he was wanting out. All Fly did was confirm they'd met. The journo's likely knew they had met when they asked the question.

The media have linked us with numerous players. If we confirm we have, is that wrong? Or do we want them to do it behind the scenes in secret & just let the media speculate? And have supporters say 'we're not going after anyone' 'we were too late' 'why didn't we chase him'

Can't have it both ways.

For how long has the Brownlow and other awards been judged as midfielder only awards. The awards have been criticised. Two ruckman win B&Fs and one is just a totally unacceptable outcome.

Yep but the dating thing and second date etc .. nope

Could not agree more. The media is beyond criticism and Fly is evil.

I swear to god that if Fly farted, there would be a media circus about how the fart was too loud and that it could have possibly damaged eardrums. Our club is a punching bag for non Pies supporters.

Rubbish.
Fly is the best thing to happen to this club in many years. He’s open and honest.

Hope he never changes.
This goes entirely against his own growth mindset approach.

Fly is the best thing to happen to the club in years. That doesn’t mean he’s perfect (an impossibility) or that he’s above criticism. In his own (paraphrased) words, always have to be looking for areas of improvement

You know what I meant.

I hope he remains open and honest. He has built a fantastic culture at the club. Fly himself won’t be around for a long time, he’s made that clear.

And who can blame him?

The scrutiny over his words at the Copeland and on Oliver are proof enough of the ridiculous level of pressure he has to endure.

Why do we assume a change in the voting system would automatically alter the result anyway?

As it is now both Darcy and Nick were judged under the same system and afforded the same equal opportunity to win at the beginning of the season.

If the coaches as a collective judged Cameron had a slightly better season than Nick then you'd hope that would be reflected regardless.

While we all know Nick is our best player, it could be argued Cameron performed closer to his ceiling more often this year and thus was the deserving winner.

"The process is in place, I always want to challenge it. Darcy Cameron is a great winner, but I'd look at the process and ... there are times when Nick could probably get more votes here and there," McRae said.
