Corey continues to improve. 17 goals since his banishment, 9 marks today and a couple with the big leap and one grabbers.

His kicking on goal from some acute angles today was a sign that he is very confident. Credit where it is due, his last four weeks have been his most consistent for a long time so well done Corey.

Does anyone else think that as many players as possible should be given a run in the VFL this weekend? Obviously I don't mean the older blokes who are in decent touch but could do with a rest - I mean guys like Motlop, Rawlings, Watt, Clayton, Petrie, Rocca, McKernan, Burton and McLaren, who have either suffered from poor/inconsistent form or limited game time.

Another advantage of this would be that if our seniors make the finals, a win against a fairly strong VFL team in Box Hill (who are including around 12 senior regulars in the VFL side) would help cement a spot in the VFL finals and keep the second stringers match-fit come finals time - something we did not have last year.

Also forgot to mention that with 12 seniors in their VFL side, the Hawks seconds will provide some of these guys with better opposition and better match-hardening than Fremantle did on Sunday.

Fair call Darky. Rawlings, Cochrane, Watt and big Drew especially could do with a decent hit out considering their limited game time lately. These kids are going to be the difference between us being competitive come late in the season when we will need the much discussed lower 5 or 10 of our senior team providing a greater contribution.

And my Mother could have provided a greater test than what freo did last weekend!!;)

as oppossed to your idea darky, I was annoyed that Denise only gave young Drew such a short spell on the ground on Sunday.
With the team easily pumping the Shockers, i thought it would have been a good opportunity to give the Dish some Airtime!

Going into this game, we're 3rd on the ladder with 7&3. The Hawks are on 2nd spot with 8&2.

Anyone who was part of the team defeated by Werribee by 82points a couple of weeks ago would be wary of the Hawks who will certainly select a fair few out of the senior side this week. Was there an article in the HS about this today? I was reading over someone's shoulder on the train.

I hope Anthony Rock is playing! If Calthorpe was fit, we'd match them up & test who has the biggest thighs.

Yes, I agree with Darky. Definitely give McKernan & Grant another game in the ressies if it has the same effects. Also Cochrane who you didn't mention. Young bones don't need the week off. Sinclair & Abraham should also play this weekend.

Young Ben wants to go and watch Drew.

Sunday 2 pm as far as I know. Box Hill City Oval is on Whitehorse Rd (corner of Middlebrough Rd), and if you're going by train it's about a 5 minute walk from Laburnum station. No idea about parking.

I think we should leave all the players that have cemented a spot in the senior side, and see what the current 2's players have to offer. I think some of the players like Mclaren, Rawlings etc. should have a run around, so that they can be compared with the other 2's players there.
I'm starting to get excited with the Corey prospect. I think he's still got lots of room for improvement, and I think he will just get better and better, with means fewer and fewer posts from CIK:D

Dream on.:D

No KHM, we are not wrong. He has not beaten any opponent of note, his goals have all been "gimmes", he still fails to take a pack mark, and he is still devoid of any defensive skills. His ruck "work" is so poor, that even Denis does not use him there unless he has to. His kicking last game was very good, but that's about it. He is still a hack, but others are drawing some level of excitement from his recent games. Let them have their fun - he will disappoint them in the end.

CIK

I can recall you giving McKernan some votes a couple of weeks ago, when you could have given them to any of 10 players. His performance has certainly picked up since he was dropped to the ressies. Gees imagine, where we would be if he was dropped earlier!!!!
