If Corey and Judd were in a draft you would have to go for "best available" and there is no question that that is Judd.

However, if your question is would I trade Corey for Judd I'd have to say no. It would disrupt team harmony (not that Judd would be a troublemaker but Corey is such a respected part of the team), Corey knows his team-mates games and they know his (chemistry - this is sooo underrated - just ask yourself the difference between the 2006 team and the current one), team balance (we know Corey "works" in our team, Judd probably would too but I prefer certainty to probability). It ultimately comes down to the old adage, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Imagine how much we'd have to pay Judd and how much of our cap we'd have to use. Imagine the other players we'd have to give up to get Judd. Imagine what it would do to team chemistry to take out a player like Corey to replace him with a greedy mercenary like Judd.

So, I think I can actually tell you taht I'd prefer Joel Corey over Chris Judd.

the problem with Judd is that he is getting to the twilight of his career which isn't to say that he has passed it.

I disagree with this. Can't really see how Judd's getting to the twilight of his career - he's 18 months younger than Joel Corey and about six months older than Gary Ablett. I think he's got plenty left in him.

Judd isn't just an outside player in the mould of Ablett, he can also play as an inside player as can be seen in many of his games for Carlton this year.

Ablett isn't just an outside player. In fact, I'd say he's just as versatile as Judd in that regard - can win his own hard ball or play receiver to Bartel and Selwood.

Oh and the question was? Yes, now you've got it, would we trade Corey for Judd. Interesting results I must say, expected at best a 50/50 split.

Judd at his best > Corey at his best

But, the question is whether you'd trade them and it's quite reasonable to say no.

Geelong does not have a more consistent, high level performer than Joel Corey. He has been better than Judd this year and because of Judd's injuries and the amount of attention he gets, there's a decent chance Corey will have a greater output for the next few years.

Had to vote no as we would end up losing more than Joel as players got ticked off that Judd was trying to get the entire salary cap.

Not sure Judd would enjoy playing in a role where all he was usefull for was getting the ball to Ablett

I love the way Joel Corey plays the game and every Sunday night I say a little prayer of thanks to the Lord Above that Joel Corey wears the Blue and White hoops.

However, this poll lives in the land of fantasy, like who I would choose out of Megan Gale and Jennifer Hawkins and Miranda Kerr (like I actually would have that opportunity would I??) or that living on a diet of coke and chocolate won't make me fat.

joel corey is the most consistent player in the afl.
he simply never has a bad game- he leads the afl for disposals and he also is up there in tackles and clearances.

also with corey he can play of half back as well and be very effective (did this on o'keefe)

i dont reckon geelong should get rid of corey for judd as ablett is your classy mid and if u let go of corey youd really miss his presence around the stoppages.

the only thing corey needs to start doing is kick goals though- he hardly ever kicks one!
