Any opinions??

Not really, both about equal. Probably we might be just in front, but not by much!

We came out in front versatility wise. Overall we definitely won on 2002 form. The big worry with losing Ports is losing his heart for the contest. Well, Corey was by far our most passionate player in 2002 which says a lot about a player in his first year with a new club. I can not speak highly enough of his efforts.

The thing that worried me most about picking up McKernan, was whether or not he'd conisistently put in 110% into the contest. I feel he did manage this on a consistent basis and played some great footy. I've tried following Porter's season at the Roos and I hope he has a good year in 2003.

Deal??

I think we traded Mark Porter and our 2nd round pick for Corey McKernan and their 3rd round pick??

I think we won, afterall Corey finished off the year sensationally, always a good indicator of the next year, and he also won the Best and Fairest...

I think we won, not by much though. Me thinks the margin might be bigger next year when McKernan is allowed to play (hopefully) a fully fit year with an uninterrupted pre-season in the forward line. With Lance and Lappin up there, and a handy backup in Fevola (if he pulls his finger out and doesnt get himself delisted in the meantime) its a pretty handy forward line. We would have won the trade handsomely if Allan had been traded and not Porter.

We gave up Porter and picks 14 (first round) and 30
for McKernan, 23 and 39.
We then traded Justin Murphy for pick 23.
The fact that Justin Davies, who we picked up at 39, looks a very likely type, underlines how strong the draft was.
