Why do you guys assume clarkson would employ the same gameplan at the crows as he did at hawthorn?
Different cattle. Different game plan.
One hit wonder.
Why change a plan that worked the first time
No other option.

So you think Hawks are employing the same game plan this year that they did last?
Slightly different but basically using the same principles as last year and the year before.
Uh... no.
Theyve changed from a long kicking team with the lowest number of short kicks in the league last year, to a possession based short kicking team with the highest amount.
The change in game plan is one of the major reasons for their improvement this season. They've compensated for the weakness in defence by holding possession for longer, and hence not exposing the defence. Very good coaching.
I dont think your criticism can stand if you conceed that point.
I would be skeptical too but he would be better than NC. What we need arefresh ideas and that will mean a bit of a clean out. We also need a coach that will attract players to the club. Even though I would prefer SA players we will need to attract some Vic players that will stay with us. A high profile coach will also bring other exposure for us. I have no idea how good Basset is (he was a excellent player) bur is two years in the SANFL long enough for what we need.Clarko or Craig?
Its ok, I’ll admit I don’t follow them that much and was possibility rating my opinion of him from about 4 years ago. However I will continue to be skeptical of his coaching until it effect the team I support and if he happens (doubt it as I doubt he will leave the hawks) to get the crows job I possibly will whine until he wins us a premiership. After that he will be a legend. I’ll even say Neil Craig is a legend if he wins us a premiership. That’s all I support a team for, is to win a flag.
How many people do you know in your current job whom you have thought have no idea and then think how did they get through the interview process. Take it from me there are alot of talkers out there whom would interview well but are S__t at their jobs. I rate a coaches ability to develop and pick out talent and faults. It is something you have to have an eye for and how can you show this in an interview. Runs on the board ala Bassett is the only way you can judge this.like any coach, you would need to make sure his deficiencies are covered by what his assistants bring to the table. our current panel is an example of what happens when you don't. too many people who think the same way and have the same blind spots.
the biggest issue at our club is not so much the coach but the people who appoint the coach. they didn't go through the proper process last time, is there anyone here who trusts them to do it right next time?
Bassett?
Ok, now it's confirmed. Cornes is an idiot.
I've seen a handful of few Norwood games under Bassett. Am I missing something?

Wow.
Let me guess you were the South supporter at the Parade early last year that proudly announced you had seen the wooden spoon team in Norwood after we went 0-4?
How about missing the fact that Bass has taken Norwood from a basket case to a GF in one season with the same if not worse list than the previous coach had? How about the fact we lost several key players to the AFL over the summer and we still currently sit second on the ladder on a seven match unbeaten run?
How about the fact Bassett actually has some passion and isn't afraid to show it and also promotes players to the senior team regardless of age? (There have been at least 4-5 kids make their debut for Norwood this season based on reserves form) Both things our fans find frustrating with our current coach.
But that's fine, you keep going down there with Ron Fuller. How's that going again?
Punchy Bassett makes good points. The most impressive thing about Nathan Bassett is his ability to get the best out of players. He resurrected careers of Duigan, Lower etc last year and is doing the same thing right now with Darren Pfeffier who will play AFL again next year
More proof needed... Luke Jericho is playing well and tackling hard under Bassett
besides that Walker will stay and star under Bass
There is only 1 choice for 2012 and it is the 2011 SANFL premiership coach ( or the coach who finishes 2nd to Roy Laird)
