If gladys hadve closed her borders from the start and kept them closed to victorians then the whole outbreak in Victoria would be contained to victoria..

Instead she carried on for weeks about everyone needing to open their borders..

then she realised she got that massively wrong, panicked and tried to shut her border with Victoria but it was too late.. Victorians had already been crossing into NSW in their droves in the couple of weeks prior... flying into sydney and driving across the NSW/Vic border..

Bringing their unwashed covid riddled grubby hands with them!... touching everything as they went!... now the grubs have spread it into NSW and are heading toward the QLD border!..

A chick I work with lives in Kingscliff NSW.. just over the border QLD/NSW border said in recent days the place has become packed with hundreds of cars with Victorian number plates.. she recons theyre everywhere... they all obviously got out of Victoria before the NSW/Vic border was finally shut and are now trying to cross the QLD border...

What a collosal fu** up... Gladys and the PM shouldve shut their mouths about openning up the borders and Gladys shouldve shut her borders from the start and kept them shut until every single state including Victoria had no cases at all for a few weeks.

But no... the PM and Gladys couldnt wait... open up they screamed!... get everything up and running they said.. its all good to go!...

Now cases are popping up in sydney linked to victorians and there are thousands of Victorians that managed to get out of Victoria into NSW, before Glad shut the border, marching northward!...

Brilliant, just fu**in brilliant..

What could have been contained to Vicco will now be spread through NSW and probably into QLD!..

All three states will probably end up having to go back into lock down again of they cant get on top of it..
Astonishing you can manufacture a way to lump it all on a LNP Premier.

What don’t you get about everyone assuming Vic was being competently managed? She was right at the time to push for open borders by other states. NSW and Vic stayed open the whole time. The country needed to get moving

There was still some cases sure but it was under control.

Dans Hotel fiasco is a catastrophic failure and has caused every last bit of this. This is not on anyone else.

I don't blame the leaders, I get that they're ultimately responsible, but there's a conga line of dim witted public servants making decisions contrary to political intent underneath them. Their failures are in not holding people to account for their failures. They need to be held accountable for that.
Some references to how poorly some public servants have handled this.

If you could test 100% of the population (which is unrealistic( you would find asymptomatic carriers in every State.

The virus has not been eliminated. It will take years to eliminate it, after a vaccine is mainstream.

How long did it take for Polio to be eliminated?

I doubt that's right. If we had asymptomatic cases wandering around they'd soon pass it on and we'd be getting sick people testing positive. What you're suggesting is that all cases in SA are asymptomatic and that is highly unlikely. The reason that people haven't been testing positive is that there's nobody with it.

Astonishing that you onviously havent read any of my posts in full..

If you had you wouldve read my comments absolutely smashing Dan “covid” andrews..

But its not dans fault that its spread to NSW and quickly spreading north... thats on Gladys for not having her borders shut.

How is it that you are so blind you cannot get it?..

So, you wouldn't sack Chapman? ;)

So, you wouldn't sack Chapman? ;)

Chapman is self described hands on doing about a full 5 day week. Plus, he sits on the football strategy committee, so he drives the direction of that area. And we're a slighly smaller concern than the entirety of Victoria. Eventually though, you run out of people to blame. In politics, the people end up holding you accountable, but rarely over individual events, more the overall performance and direction. That's when the leader gets it in the neck, and that's why Chapman should be marched out.

The percentage would be low. But there would be some. Out if a population of just over 1 million I would suggest less than 1000

How many South Aussies do you know have been tested. I have been, but only know about 8 others.

I doubt every person with an itchy throat, slight flu symptoms etc is getting tested.

Take a Cordal and "Soldier On".

The reason the cases are not hitting vulnerable people here, thus forcing a test, is the measures in place. Or dumb luck.

Yep, reckon I know three people who have been tested, maybe four.

Can we send Chapman over to Victoria to sort out their COVID mess?

And here we go again. Watch the spineless governments do nothing except bully small business, families and individuals

I dont know how many times I have to write that victoria is f’ed before you and your mate Peter read it and comprehend it...

Covictoria is a joke yes...

But the reason it has spread from there is solely on Gladys shoulders... she left the borders open. If she hadve had them shut then it would be contained to victoria all along and we woildnt have victorian fu**heads spreading it across NSW and now aparently into QLD..

Is that too hard for you to comprehend?... or is it just that you cant handle hearing someone point out ths failings of a conservative government?..

Take off your rose coloured glasses for once and see that this is a fu** up of both the labor vic gov and the nsw lib gov has helped spread it by not shutting their borders from the very beginning.

The various governments were never going to leave the borders closed. The plan all along was to flatten the curve, gain adequate capacity in the medical system then re engage the economy with open borders. If an outbreak occurs. Trace it and spot fix it while retaining the widest possible economy.
This is to be expected but is a wake up call how easy it spreads when hygiene and SD are lax.

Start swimming now, might be there by Christmas....
Island hopping from the top of cape York To New Guinea is actually possible in a tinny. Just need to risk going through all those rascals and on through West Papua. Westward. It would be a great adventure. If I wasn’t 53, running a business and caring for two teenagers, I’d certainly be looking into it. The 53 bit actually is no impediment.

So now the Vics are stowing away in a train to escape.

Seriously f....k off!
Without trying to be political - because it affected both sides - but I wonder how many of these rushing to leave the state were opposed to ''boats full of refos''

So 4 Victorians arrested for sneaking on to a goods train from Melbourne to Adelaide to Perth.

Hopefully the get a good holiday... in a jail cell.

Probably gave themselves pneumonia in the process.

Don't ever accuse me of sh*t talking again after that old son....

He is a happy clapper so he does believe in miracles.

And another fail by you. Just like with Trump there is a tweet, there is always a quote by Morrison.

Such comedy.

Perfectly reasonable to make that call on borders a few weeks ago when we looked like getting on top of it.

I guess Gladys and ScoMo were working on the flawed premise that there was even a minuscule amount of competence on quarantine management.

No one could have foreseen the extent of the incompetence from Comrade Dan and his socialist Health experts

Yeh, Gladys and SmoCo have no responsibility at all, do they?

You are so predictable. Gladys has actually said today that we can never expect to have no daily cases. Unbelievable, still trying to go for suppression when an elimination strategy is required. And let us not forget SmoCo wanted the economy and state borders to be open back in late April/May. FMD!

Yes, Andrews has ****ed up however he ain’t the only one and one thing he has done is accept responsibility and the buck stops with him.

He’s accepted responsibility has he? Must have missed that one, all I’ve seen is him hiding behind his inquiry no doubt hoping it all blows over - kind of like how the branch stacking has.

Andrews really is the only one that has royally screwed us with breathtaking incompetence.

Well listen to his press conferences and open your eyes as well.

No, both State leaders and the PM have screwed up but hey your failure to acknowledge is not that unusual.
