I thought protesting calmly without masksr was literally going to kill people alone? These guys are protesting/rioting leaning on top of each other so how is that not going to also kill people due to COVID? Does the virus only infect people based on what they are protesting? It's been very interesting to read/watch media reporting on the riots and not hear one utterance that these people are risking everyones health being out doing it?

Outside of a peak hour on the way out of town at night the trains are generally dead. They could easily have more room during these times if they ran longer trains as well. I always cringe when I see on the Grange/Outer harbour line the 1 carriage to Grange. Will be interesting what privatising does to the time table, one hopes it increases services during peak hours.

Electrifying the existing network isn't a cheap proposition, I think you need to replace all the sleepers to concrete, install all the power, have the power capacity and redundancy etc. What would be good is an underground loop of the train in the cbd.

Where are the other 22m deaths to late May? Given about 60m people die a year, that shows 1.95m deaths to late May.

I known Malaria is involved in a lot more deaths than that graphic shows.

The Myer store in Perth reopened recently and I took a shortcut through there yesterday. What made me laugh was they had one door for entry and another for exit on the other side of a set of eight doors - I get they want to do the separation thing, but by funneling people through two doors instead of eight I wonder if that's what they'll achieve.
