Interesting I listen to a lot of podcasts on virology. The virus still enters your nasal passages so you become infected but once it hits your blood the immune components attack it so you have less or no disease from the virus.
Yes curious to hear other opinions.
Let me know what else you find out.
Perhaps it does actually reduce infection like some previous vaccines were able to but what I heard was different, especially initial

It has started. No vax no entry has been introduced at Bird in Hand winery. The idea is OK but I cannot help but feel they are jumping the gun. Maybe it is a publicity stunt who knows? What is needed is a Federal Government funded app and card system that is coordinated across the nation. They might even think of a National QR Code check in app that automatically displays your vaccination status and the fact that you have checked in.

The more tech savvy among us may have a better solution but as I see it the only way of displaying your vaccination status is by downloading the Express Plus Medicare app and accessing your COVID 19 digital certificate. To do this you have to set up a MYGov account and link it to Medicare. For many this will be a simple matter but there are some less technically adept people who will have trouble with it.
The bottom line is that Morrison has to address the issue of a vaccine passport. Morrison has to get an easy to use digital vaccine passport system running and provide the legislation to allow proprietors the right to refuse entry on the basis of non vaccination.

A couple of new TIER 1 Exposure Sites announced overnight which include the Cross Keys Hotel and the Cavan Hotel back from from Monday 30th August. You and your household must quarantine for 14 days get tested as per SA Health advice.

The Israeli health ministry has pointed out the number of serious cases in Israel appears to be falling. And among those aged over 60, serious cases in the unvaccinated was running at 15 times greater than the vaccinated.
“The severe disease rates in the vaccinated are about one-tenth of those seen in the unvaccinated, which means the vaccine is still over 90 per cent effective in preventing severe disease,” infectious disease specialist at Sheba Medical Centre, Professor Eyal Leshem, told Canadian TV station CBC.
The clinical trails for Pfizer found that effectiveness was around 90%, the same effectiveness found in Israel's population vaccination program. The vaccines are really worth celebrating.

The global COVID death toll to date is 4.5M. In the same period the world's net population increase was 135M.
I get that as part of our evolutionary psychology humans are hardwired for bad news so we can avoid danger and that the media are incentivised to fill this need. But despite the reporting of countries totally f*cking up their COVID response (US, UK, Brazil, India, Sweden etc.), health systems under extreme stress, and bodies being buried in mass graves, the COVID death toll could be 30 times worse and it still wouldn't put a dent in the world's population. In the history of our species there's never been a safer time to be a human than the times we live in.
Get vaccinated. Practice good hygiene and wear masks in crowded, confined spaces. Observe responsible social distancing including staying home if ill. Get on with your life.

It's not simple if it doesn't work. I tried to link my MyGov account, it said I can't do it online and need to call Medicare. I've tried several times and get an automated message saying they're overwhelmed and unable to take more calls at this time and that I should go online.How is Bird in Hand going to police this? I agree with this post based on what I've read on influenza and covid. I compare both as they are both respiratory, both commonly enter the body and build up high in the nasal passage where the immune system does not work.
Thus the virus multiplies there, spreads to third parties. However if you have been vaccinated or had the disease, as it enters the body the immune system does not "over respond". It is the over response that kills, not the disease itself.
Perhaps the "over response" is negated by having lower virus build up numbers.
