80% had atleast 1 jab. Nearly 50% fully vaccinated. Just motoring on. Well done Gladys.
Gladys is due a rerun on the front cover of the AFR - led her state through the pandemic and is now leading the nation out. Even Dan has seen the light and is riding on her strategic coat tails!

Jobkeeper was a good move. It is just that it was better for some than for others. It would appear the bigger the organisation the more they made out of it.

Economic recovery aside the Government really should be asking these large companies to pay the money back. The money paid back could go the small businesses that are struggling in Sydney or Melbourne. Guys like these...

Can’t hate Gladys, at least she’s trying to do something productive that will get us a step closer to normal life and not just locking down at the hint of someone sneezing like most of this piss weak country.

Right, so locking down parts of Australia's biggest city for over three months is productive? Many would argue that Berejiklian's failure to lockdown early enough and hard enough as happened in SA, Qld and WA resulted in an infinitely longer lockdown for major parts of Sydney and some regional areas. The Bondi cluster was not controlled as the Modbury cluster in Adelaide or the Indooripilly cluster in Brisbane were controlled. Regardless of the size of the city each of those clusters were approximately the same size when first detected. Maybe Adelaide and Brisbane were lucky but on the face of it the NSW Government did not try hard enough in the first stages of infection.

Oh by the way because Gladys could not control the outbreak, people from NSW carried the infection to WA, SA, Qld and Victoria and even managed to export it to New Zealand. I guess you will want to nominate Gladys for an Australian Export Award for that that piece of productive initiative?

Sydney is proper city, not a provincial backwater like Adelaide or Melbourne. Let's not forget who's born the brunt of the most overseas arrivals. Sydney and Gladys have done a fantastic job Sydney is the gateway to Australia. Theyve done a really good job of it. 250 odd deaths, mainly very old and sick people, in a city of 5 million. In nearly 2 years. Pretty good for the "worstest pandemic ever".

Just proves that lockdowns and restrictions work.

And Papa g is brain injured.

Imagine making these calls as their hospitals are about to get hammered in a few week's whilst Gladys is walking away from the media and refusing to attend parliament. Let's see if he's sucking on Gladys **** come the end of October/November when they'll have hundreds of deaths. Not to mention the excess deaths.

The only reason he's playing his trumpet now is because NSW have a announced a vague reckless plan to open , he doesn't care that hospitals are at capacity. He's the dumbest fkwit on here.

Of course NSW are hitting targets faster than others when they're recieving hundreds of thousands more Pfizer than anyone else through their GP network and most of that was above their already higher allocations from the polish supply. Makes it a hell of a lot quicker when you're only waiting 2-3 weeks between 1st and 2nd jab than 6-8 weeks with AZ. * there's some dipshits on here.

Exactly.
And….
It wasn’t Gladys who commissioned the Doherty report and the Roadmap out.
It was the (ugh ) Feds, the same Feds who do everything to save her bacon.
She’s no inspirational leader.
She never accepts accountability.
Must be practicing to be Scomo’s replacement lol.

You've been making these "Healthcare will fail' calls for 18 months. It hasn't. It won"t. Not even close.
It hasn't due to restrictions and lockdowns you keep crying about you absolute omelette.

You're in serious denial if you think the
NSW health will get through this fine. the requirements of surge capacity seriously impacts health outcomes in other areas of a acute healthcare system. They'll have hundreds of deaths and hundreds of excess deaths due to covid. That's absolutely guaranteed. Nobody will be opening their borders to NSW till well after New year's

Read some pretty bad takes on all this Covid stuff but Papa G taking the cake. Makes me think it is an elaborate long game trolling of this thread. Fair effort if so.

This thread takes me back to year 11 when I studied both Modern European History and Australian History. You'd go from 1 class discussing the Battle of the Somme or Operation Barbarossa to the other class where you'd discuss the Rum Rebellion and and the Eureka Stockade. Covid is the Rum Rebellion given the misplaced imperiousness of Operation Barbarrossa.

It is in the US and UK though, but I'll grant that's not NSW.

Pretty good chance that NSW is recovering.
Red Curve:
7 day moving average curve for "Cases per Day" appears to have topped out at about 1400 cases per day (has now dropped to a bit below 1200 Cases per Day
Blue Curve
7 day moving average curve for "[Cases/Tests] per Day" has topped out at around 11 cases per 1000 tests conducted (has now dropped to a bit over 9 cases per 1000 tests conducted)

A few more data points for full confidence required.

Would love to see the number of tests being completed daily on this line. Got a feeling that there's a point here where there's a bit of covid fatigue going on, and that the recent slowing of numbers is probably more likely just that less of those that are a-symptomatic and/or with minor symptoms are getting tested.

With the fact NSW has clearly lost all control of the virus, ahead of time, there's no doubt there would've grown an acceptance in the community that it is here and just have to live with it. Which is fine, just means the figures might not be as accurate as they were. Hopefully the numbers of deaths remain contained.

You are on the money for mine. Hospitalisations ICU and deaths are all we should be looking at.
