The point is, the people who come up with stupid regulations like checking vaccination passports have never worked in small business and don't understand what it's like when you're spending your own money rather than other people's money.

I work in a small business and we have had a "no double vax no entry" policy for 2 weeks

We've had no issues surrounding this, probably because I work in an industry full of university educated people so the general intelligence level is quite high. Everyone is double vaccinated.

In an office it's pretty easy to implement a way to monitor who comes and goes but this would be difficult in retail I imagine.

Where did I say the system was under strain to the point it can't cope?

What i said was that the flowchart with respect to the definitions of casual/close contacts in a health care setting is so ridiculous that any strain the health care system experiences in coming months due to healthcare workers being stood down or in quarantine will be entirely of SA Health's own making.

I am yet to come across a single worker in health care in SA (be it GP, specialist, midwife, nurse, admin staff, allied health professional etc) who thinks the flowchart system for health care workers is sound.

Take the scenario of a specialist for instance - one that requires any type of hands on work in his private office - if they come into contact with a covid positive case, they're out of work for at least a week. These specialists are usually booked many weeks if not months in advance. One week out of work - how do they just "make up for it" down the track without inconveniencing an absolute ton of their patients - some of whom have been waiting to see said specialist for many months?

I spoke with one ENT recently who said "christmas holidays have come early for many of my colleagues this year" because none of them can be bothered dealing with the ridiculous rules and regulations set out by SA Health. And for those who stay open - the overwhelming are forced through this bureaucratic BS to provide substandard care in order to remain open for business. It's utterly ridiculous.

The virus doesn't magically not jump to healthcare workers simply because they need to come into close contact with people.

So your Specialist example, they are in close contact with a positive case. If they don't go an take that time off work they then go and infect all their later appointments. Yeah thats a good outcome because those people who have caught it from the specialist are now spreading it further.

There's also the fact that healthcare workers are more likely to come into contact with vulnerable people. So they need to be more careful about interactions with someone who is infected.

Do you believe it is appropriate to shut down health care businesses when a health care worker comes into contact with a positive case, despite the worker being vaccinated, the positive case being vaccinated, and all of the patients and workers at the health care facility vaccinated?

Yeah I got the dates mixed up on that graph. Assumed the death spikes happened pre-vaccine. Which might be the case, not sure how their rollout went.

Last big spike in deaths was august-sept ish.

My industry has a large percentage of casual workers and a large number of sites to staff.
As Covid spreads and quarantines start to build up it is going to be a nightmare trying to staff all sites while complying with the guidelines. And as far as I can see there is no longer any form of government support payments for those who lose pay, how many repeat quarantines are casual staff going to tolerate before they just quit?
We have all had our mandatory vaccinations to keep working (sickest I have ever been, that 2nd jab was brutal!) surely just regular testing post exposure would be adequate with quarantine only necessary after a positive result.

Cawthorn claimed that most of the signers did not know him personally and his campaign posted a letter of support for him signed by six alumni, two of whom work for Cawthorn's campaign. The letter implied support by former Patrick Henry College President Michael Farris; Farris disavowed the support letter and asked that he not be associated with it.[87]

A February 2021 BuzzFeed News investigation found 20 people who said that Cawthorn had harassed his female classmates during college; the reporters spoke to four women who said that Cawthorn had harassed them. It was alleged that Cawthorn often recklessly drove women in his car to remote areas off campus while asking them sexual questions, which he called "fun drives". Two resident assistantssaid they warned women to avoid Cawthorn and not to ride in his car. A male acquaintance said Cawthorn bragged about pulling a woman into his lap and putting a finger between her legs.[6]"

I went into the post office to collect an online purchase last week but forgot my wallet with my driver's license in it. Had my phone and whipped out the Covid Cert XIX thinking that it's a valid form of ID.

PO guy wasn't impressed but he let it slide.

You're confusing and conflating "educated" and "intelligence" - to have one does NOT mean the other exists in the same entity.
