A Sydney hotel quarantine worker has tested positive to COVID-19 after receiving a vaccination.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison downplayed any alarm surrounding the case, stating he was not disturbed and vaccinations were not immediately effective.
"I'm not surprised by it, because you would expect these things to happen on the odd occasion.
Deputy Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly said the jab was not a "silver bullet" that provided a quick fix.
Professor Kelly added there was a time lag between receiving the jab and it taking affect.

Too true also your philosophy on death and society's view colliding with Covid was great reading.
As a society we tend to hide or shield from uncomfortable topics so when the unpleasant happens we have no way of dealing with it without a hysterical response. I'm not saying we should wollow in them but acknowledge good bad and a spectrum exists.
As for defining yourself that is something every adult must do eventually. But a lot I don't know retreat to the group or speak out and yell above the crowd thinking they are being edgy but are really wrestling the attention to push their view.
Truly defining yourself means living authentically to your values (granted they should be good values that don't harm others. You don't want a mass murderer living to their values) but a lot can't handle it. It's human nature. Go against the grain and be splintered. That's where not getting you down comes in

The other philosophy also is goals, setting them and what happens when you achieve it. The fastest way towards depression if you ask me is setting a goal, achieving said goal and then expanding or re-writing that same goal because "hey maybe we aimed too low and can do better". Its the ultimate psychological failure because you are essentially creating a cycle whereby you never achieve anything. The second Mark McGowan had a communiuty case he was a ****ing devastated wreck, He looked like he failed and he struggled mightily to handle it. He lashed out by pinning the falure onto the community and trying to protect himself and his own goals. The biggest thing it also causes in the end is a lack of progression or development.

If we drum back to the original concept that "lets get community spread low so our hospitals can handle the cases". We achieved that and rather living with that goal, we moved the goalposts towards "Hey that was easy lets eliminate it". When we achieved the first goal, the community lost minimal amounts, once we re-write the goals we started damaging ourselves, creating mass society based issues and pushed along because we were so focused on our singular goal, the rest became a mere afterthought

If you want to actually be a happy person, set a goal, achieve your goal and then believe it or not, SET A ****ING DIFFERENT AND NEW ****ING GOAL!!!. Why at the age of 40+ do people struggle with such a basic human concept.

If we made the decisons to just live with minimal community spread for example and by doing so we create 100 billion dollars of economic impact, if we simply pick up that 100 billion dollars and moved it towards a new goal of say, "Lets improve mental health facilities as well as childrens hospitals" or "Lets improve agriculture, create cheaper food and improve peoples immune systems and lifestyle" or a "Lets tackle drug abuse with better treatment facilities and trying to crush supply" we would progress as a society and actually lessen the issues we live with by woweee, let me put something out here thats wild a crazy but we would do so by ACHIEVING MULTIPLE GOALS!!!. If we took those goals, its not even arguable. We would have saved more lives then the disease could potentially take and as a society we achieve more then we could have by being singular focused

Society wont drum its way out of depression, fear and anxiety until they define achievment and are happy with that

In what humanely conceivable way is this not the baseline of success. They are so far away the success case it’s not funny. We probably need to think about this more and ask why. Why is a pretty simple thing

The credible source you want me to rely on recently made a prediction that less then 1 percent of opoid takers would suffer from opioid addiction. History creates credibility. That’s why in horse racing you look at past form and then predict if it will win its future race. I’m aware you want to re create history, wipe the slate clean and start again, but that is fantasyland. "I stopped 10 people of dieing from Coronavirus today" isnt a fanastic achievment for example if alternative data is brought in to say "Well 6 more people died of suicide then last time this year and 14 more people died of illness at home when they refused to go to the hospital when they otherwise would have"

It really is quite alarming how as a society we are drawing into just failing fundamental basics of life. Tends to make me think we will fall further down the chain as time passes by.
