This is how I've felt about things in Australia for a while. Zero cases is just unsustainable and it's really painting the country into a corner. But apparently Premiers have been rewarded for it so the government has no pressure on them to open things up. I was already overdue to visit home. I'm saddened by the fact it will probably be another couple of years. Hopefully my parents can make it over here at some stage.

Problem for your folks will be getting back.
Politically the opposition here just nibbles the edges. Andrews stuffed quarentine etc . (He didn't other states had worse breaches but flu like viruses spread in a Melbourne winter).
If a political party came out and said no to lockdowns and were ending this bullshit you may get an indication.
2 parties have won easy on the back of this. Andrews Labor in Victoria will as well.
Although it's weird how he's disappeared.
I don't buy the rumours floating about here but it's odd how there was a press release than bar an article radio silence.
Regardless it's freezing here now the weather has turned in the last week or 2. Colds floating already. Bit no job keeper anymore.

Alot of preachin but very little practicing. Those who worry the most won’t get the vaccine what does that say about everything else.

it wouldn’t surprise me if we get to 40 percent vaccinated and then it stops. I think we will have issues vaccinating more then any other country in the world
