The PCR technology used in tests to detect viruses cannot distinguish between viruses capable of infecting cells and viruses that have been neutralized by the immune system and therefore these tests cannot be used to determine whether someone is contagious or not. I think it means they're just not using PCR tests to give anybody the all clear as free from infection. The test is still a good for monitoring the virus's progress where the first reading serves as a baseline. Viral load goes up and peaks, in recovery it starts to go down.

Advice from intelligence agencies early in would have been to shut that idea down while they continued to gather information on China. I'm not sure without knowing exactly the how and why of it all, the knowing but not knowing without evidence would have been helpful.

Now we have vaccines and presumably a way out of this eventually, the timing is better to approach the problem.

I only know of one parent who has got their kids vaccinated so far. One of her sons has down-syndrome so Covid posed a risk.

Yes. I'm lucky not much has changed for me in the past year or so though. But things like restaurants, kids sport matches being back is good. Basically, we're just back to what we were at at the start of the year. Could to see some clearer timelines though.

And on a different note this morning i decided to drive past my local testing station and my god, it was jam packed and spilling out onto the road and looking at the people in these cars, they didn't look sick they looked frightened and you can understand why they are getting tested. They are that scared that they need to get a test so someone can tell them they don't need to be scared anymore, how mentally messed up would these people be.

A family in the sense we all share a different viewpoint but ultimately the same concepts behind it. We just want equality, fairness and respect and essentially are feeding of emotions outside of sheer panic and blind selfisness that has encompassed most of Australia and has made us feel somewhat isolated with the concepts we share
