They already can stop you from putting kids in daycare etc. So coercion is there somewhat. They are not going to round up people against their will though.

Depends how you look at it. I imagine uptake would be relatively high. Some will refuse and could cause an outbreak like we see sometimes with measles.

I’d take that compared to a complete lack of choice mandated by the government.

That’s not the case now and I’m not sure it needs to change for this virus.

With less than 1,000 deaths in Australia without a vaccine I imagine it would be minimal anyway.

My 82 year old mum who by the way is as fit as a fiddle and takes no medication, does not take the flu vaccine and has said she wont be having the Covid jab.... should she be forced to have it and if not should she be able to still go to Coles to shop, go to the movies and go on her daily walks or should she be in forced quarantine for the rest of her days?

I’m half her age and take a flu shot and don’t expect anybody to give a crap or it to impact on my freedom whatsoever. My choice. Shouldn’t be any difference with a Covid vaccine.

I feel like a bit of an intruder on this thread but always good to share ideas. Some are a bit crazy for me but people should always question shit.

We’re hitting 700 cases or so in British Columbia now. So, similar to what Victoria saw. Our government (at least in the West) have certainly not been talking mandatory vaccines. Who knows though. I think Tam (national top Doc) has mentioned it. Can’t see it happening though.

Maybe if people were willing to take responsibility for their own health outcomes to viruses would be much better. Two thirds of adult Australians are obese, mostly due to a lack of self control. I find the notion of taking responsibility for others when they don’t do it for themselves laughable and a ridiculous burden to place on the individual.
