In terms of medical research that’s nothing.
Once there’s an effective vaccine that can boost the resistance of people vulnerable to the virus then I would expect things to get back to normal.

If one year is nothing in terms of medical research, why would you subject yourself to a vaccine developed in 6 months?

It’s Christmas. If Jesus can spend time with the lepers, prostitutes and simple minded folk, so can I.

At least we don't put everyone in danger of lockdown by rushing the testing stations for things like a headache, a slight cough, nothing or panic from watching MSM, 48k vics and 123k nsw idiots in the last 4 days putting us all in danger of lockdowns by getting tested out of panic despite having nothing wrong with them.

As am I. Just rolling the dice with HIV Zika SARS 1 swine flu Avian flu Legionnaires Meningitis Menigicoccal and all other outbreaks or pandemics off the top of my memory that have existed in my lifetime.
At least in this case I'm probably asymptomatic. Not like I'll lose a limb or be permanently disfigured. Just need to watch I don't infect a nursing home resident.
Disclaimer: I've not visited a nursing home in 8 years and have no plans to do so. But better to be safe then sorry. Best get fitted for that biohazard suit

If NSW tested 40k people and got back 8 'positives', do the math.

The PCR tests could be 99.99% accurate and still come back with four false positives from 40k tests.

Why isn't this being talked about?

It depends on how many replication cycles the PCR uses. It is not a positive or negative indication of a virus that is measured, so the theory of false positives depends on the replication cycles that's used.

PCR replication cycles allowed are between 25 and 40 or 45. If you use 25 cycles no one, unless they have serious symptoms, will test positive. This might have a 99.99 rate of false positives.

Anything over 45 will indicate everyone is positive for the virus. Somewhere in-between you will get many asymptomatic which means they can't pass it on and this could be considered false positive and will be far greater.

The inventor Dr Kary Mullis was adamant PCR test should not be used to diagnose infectious disease. “PCR is really a manufacturing technique. You start with one molecule. You start with a small amount of DNA and on each cycle the amount doubles, which doesn’t sound like that much, but if you, if you double 30 times, you get approximately a billion times more material than you started with."

This would be 30 replication cycles. Fauci is on record saying anything above 30 -35 cycles, maximum, does not give an accurate indication of a virus and will indicate dead viral material or any influenza virus. This is why influenza has disappeared this year.

As I thought. You don’t know the first thing about viruses. Viruses like the common cold and influenza have been around long enough for most people to have some level of immunity or to have some vaccine available to them. When a new virus suddenly turns up it’s a good idea to treat it as a threat until you know what you’re dealing with. I don’t see any problem with how Covid 19 has been dealt with so far. If it had had a higher mortality rate people would have been screaming at governments to have done more to stop it spreading.

Correct, viruses like the common cold and influenza have been around for long enough for people to have some sort of immunity and studies show some of these other corona viruses offer 40 -60% cross over immunity and protection from SARS CoV 2. You being such an expert on viruses would know this and know the exact 4 common cold viruses and the 2 other SARS corona viruses that do.

Logically when a new virus turns up this means there is no need to treat it as a threat. Why would we, except to be aware that vulnerable, elderly with co morbidities are at risk every year from a new strain that appears?

We were told to be very afraid because this corona virus was going to kill over 200,000 in Australia and over 2 million in US and England and we needed to shut everything down and stay home so we didn't get infected. Fairy nough initially, as we didn't really know what we were dealing with. But quickly we realised that while this was like a nasty cold that had serious acute respiratory symptoms, the death rate was no different to a normal flu season.

Total death rates in Australia, US or England are no different than any other year. Johns Hopkins University analysis of deaths from all causes the US showed that deaths attributed to COVID seemed to come from decreases in deaths caused by heart attacks, flu, pneumonia and other causes.

So would you be happy every year for the government to tell businesses and schools to shut down for months, and enforce draconian rules suppressing thousands of scientific studies that showed safe and effective medications were available and the vulnerable could be protected with preventatives, for something that has the same effect on illness and deaths as a yearly influenza does?

Trump started talking about deaths per case number, which put the US around mid table in countries, in an interview with an Aussie journalist. However he got shut down as all they wanted to focus on was total number of deaths.

If he'd focused on a comparison with other years and looking at the statistical analysis showing classifications fro other causes are being accredited to COVID, he might have made headway.

In European countries, especially Sweden where deaths have almost disappeared, all the media concentrate on is positive cases which have multiplied with the huge increase in testing.

With the dishonest media they'll always find a way to keep the propaganda going with how they present or suppress information.

Well I’m pleased to hear that you know that viruses have been around forever, so how then do you explain your ignorance about them?

I'm curious how you explain why there has never been a successful vaccine for any corona virus cold or SARS CoV 1 or MERS, all closely related to SARS Cov 2?

And how would this vaccine which has been rushed into production without completing comprehensive animal testing, or Phase 3 testing or being tested on people over 80, that has many adverse effects including deaths and allergic reactions, with unknown long term effects, that hasn't been shown to stop people (or primates) getting COVID or passing it on, boost the resistance of people vulnerable to the virus?

If you understood that the experienced medial lab scientist is saying that the PCR tests are picking up flu cases, and he confirmed this by retesting the positive COVID tests with specific flu tests, then maybe you would understand why flu has disappeared this year.

One of the results of this is deaths from flu and pneumonia are being counted as COVID deaths.

Since you are an expert on viruses, still waiting your explanation why there has never been a successful vaccine for corona viruses and how the vaccines that have been released can possibly boost resistance of vulnerable people, given the circumstances I've listed above?
