I sure hope this isn't correct, I do believe more lockdowns will come at some stage this year however.

Dont know. There will be lockdowns but I doubt schools shut curfews extreme limits on 2 per home.
Borders will definitely shut so will hospitality.

Thousands potentially will be forced into their homes for 2 weeks because someone else got the sniffles, that anything you have planned will need to be shelved.

Said to a mate a few days ago, by signing in to the pub he now has to hope that no one in that pub who is dumb enough to get tested tests positive, he asks why and i tell him that he will be in home detention for 14 days, he looked at me with horror and then asks what about you, i say i didn't sign in so it's like i was never there so therefore nothing to worry about for me.

Dear Christ. The problem you have is a baseline has been activated where if you engage in discussion shit like the virus can get into air vents, or my fav the sweat droplets of a jogger spreads it when jogging past the virus is contagious beyond belief and asymptomatic people are spreading vaccine is 100%is just an iron clad fact so there is no scope to move back.

Which State just announced no need to wear masks outside? NSW? So where is the "science" that is supporting these decisions or did that pretense just disappear?

The n95 masks work, but even then they need to be replaced at regular intervals to be effective. If everyone is like me, nowhere near enough consideration is given to mask maintenance/replacement, rendering the whole concept an exercise in futility. And of course then there are those that wear it as a chin strap.

Victorians told to join checkpoint queues before midnight to get across NSW border - ABC News


"Victorians in New South Wales have until midnight tonight to get back into the state before a hard border closure comes into effect, as the coronavirus cluster linked to a Melbourne restaurant rises to 10 cases.

Travellers seeking to cross the border back into Victoria before the hard closure will need to have joined the queue of cars at a checkpoint before 11:59pm, Victoria Police Deputy Commissioner Rick Nugent said.

"At midnight, regardless of how long the queue is, we'll have a police car go to the end of that queue," he said.

"If you are there by midnight, regardless of whether you're actually processed, you're included as arriving prior to midnight."

After midnight, travellers will not be able to cross the NSW border into Victoria unless they have an exemption or a permit as a traveller from a separate state like Queensland or the ACT who solely travelled through NSW to reach Victoria.

Victorian authorities yesterday said people arriving after that time would have to enter mandatory hotel quarantine, but today clarified that was an option that would only be extended in exceptional circumstances, and most people would simply be turned back.

"We did not design the hotel quarantine system to enable people who went on holiday in NSW to come back a bit later," Victoria's COVID-19 response commander Jeroen Weimar said."
