Respect for nurses has nothing to do with trusting science. Cupping them into the same category is gross even. A nurse is a frontline employee, putting their lives on the line everyday, a shit ton of that time spent protecting society from the opioid crisis, drug crises that science created ironically enough. A nurse is worthy of way more respect then a scientist. If anything that’s the most disrespectful thing I’ve read on this site. If you had any shame you would give nurses more respect then a guy in a suit with a opinion

I wouldn’t really want to be the how many nurses guy. They are there own individual. Id personally love to see them speak for themselves with a greater voice but that isn’t the case. How many news articles for example begin with Epidemiologist, Bob Smith as opposed to Nurse Bob Smith? I’d rather here the nurses opinion myself. It’s a shame we don’t get to hear it

The Victorian situation I think is a bit like picking up a baby with 1 arm, dropping him on the floor, picking up a baby with 1 arm dropping him again. After you do this 4 times in the space of 2 minutes, at what point is there intent, at what point do you ask, wait why are you making that same mistake over and over again?

I think their is a small bit of intent in the sense that, whereby in a twisted ****ed up way you benefit from a mistake, you are not really inclined to prevent it from occuring again to the best of your ability. When Victoria locksdown today, Dan Andrews approval ratings will increase, his partys donation coffers will increase, his satisfaction rating will increase, his ability to spend and control will increase. What is he wanting to prevent exactly?

If Dan wanted to prevent infection, he would do the logical thing, build a isolation camp in the middle of nowhere and house everyone + guards and there families (insane wages to make it worthwhile) well away from the public in any actual way. Easy to contract trace cases when people and contacts have never entered the community ever id say. Its a easy option but not one that will win Dan any votes, so its not one he will follow

A shame really. Sometimes the answer is so simple, but the arrogance of one is too blinding to make it a reality

Victoria gets smashed with colds flu pneumonia every year. We also have high capacity and a generally good medical system for emergencies.
The continued popularity and cheering of Andrews and lockdown restriction love needs to be seen to be believed.
While maybe half just do what told is is bizarre the lengths the rest of the population are going.

I think the idea by some is as long as I can keep my materialistic life, then im happy to do whatever. The type of people who are happy to be locked in a house without a job but if Dan came out and said "We are banning Facebook, Google, Netflix for spreading misinformation. Amazon, Apple and Nike for gross negligent work practices and UberEats for poor workplace conditions" would be up in arms and crying themselves to sleep

I feel like you are not a person who gains happiness from consumption and its why you struggle more then someone like Aristotle who is happy as long as his Uber driver can drop his 25 dollar toasted sandwich off to his house within 30 minutes.

In the end isnt this what they are all demanding? Ill take your freedoms to prosper, but will promote your will to consume. UK is a great example. Locks everyone away then gives everyone 100 dollar vouchers to go out into city to eat and spend up which was kind of the driving force behind lockdown 2.

My advice is too simply live your life your way. If Aristotle and co dont like it, they are simply lesser people IMO. Anyone who wants someone to act the same as them isnt a real great person to take advice from because they simply lack empathy

People who cheer lockdowns are the people who havnt survived enormous pain in my experience. I wont say that makes us better. btw, Just smarter . It may seem hard to escape the mass and feel sucked in by it, but I kind of believe the guy before who was going on about giving up the fight about these pro lockdown people. In the end trying to turn around someone who lacks empathy or a social conscience isnt really possible or even worth doing. The Government have failed again and have not improved their contact tracing like they've said they have. A third lockdown should be the death nail to Dictator Dan Andrews position as premier. He needs to finally be held accountable and either resign or be forced out! This shit cannot continue period!

As burge has said, the negative impacts are not hidden. They are there. We see them, we know them. The dumbest people around know them. Interesting thing in that thread is no-one ever mentions children. I'm assuming none of them are parents, at least in the pro-lockdown crowd. If they had to face the uncertainty of providing for dependants or managing school-age children during a lockdown I imagine their perspective would change.
