We have been through lockdowns, the US mostly hasn't. One has near 0 cases, the other is a complete sh1tshow.

What makes you think that? Because you some horror stories on the news? Look at the facts and talk to actual people in the US. The family and friends I have over there are fine and they say Covid is no worse than annual flu (at it's worst). No-one knows anyone who has died from it. The CDC have admitted most of the deaths are people with co-morbidities. Actual death rates over there no worse than other years, just like every other country. Remember case numbers mean nothing; false positives, asymptomatic 'cases' making it look worse than it is. Turn off the MSM, get a reality check and get some perspective and stop allowing yourself to be controlled by fear.

Cuomo refused to use the military ships and the Javits Centre that were offered to take covid patients. Instead, he decided to use aged care facilities. The death toll is north of 13,000. Unfortunately, this partisan hack refused because the offer came from the wrong person.

This sort of thing needs an immediate explanation from Dan Andrews and the media need to hold him accountable. First he falsely maligned the nebuliser guy, now there are serious doubts over these exposure sites. You don't have to be a conspiracy theorist to say something is not right here surely!

I've mentioned this before but those of us who are old enough will remember the Fairfield Infectious Diseases Hospital here in Melbourne. Just like its name says, it was used for people who were sick with an infectious disease to isolate them from the rest of the community while they were infectious. It was closed some years ago because it was no longer required (new treatments, procedures etc. I assume made it redundant). What would be the most logical thing to do if there is an outbreak of an infectious disease that could threaten to affect the whole community? Isolate them all in one hospital facility. Why wasn't a temporary hospital set up for this purpose? Or why wasn't one of the existing hospitas turned over solely for this use? No, lets lock down the whole state instead. Wake up folks, you are being conned.

2 points with that:
1) Needs patients to isolate away from one another given most cases are mild and would otherwise not needing hospital anyway.
2) The most obvious of your point. An infectous disease hospital. You know for people who are actually sick with the bloody thing. Not everyone else or those with tiny fragments of the virus.

There are already safe and reliable treatments for this. Just that they've been sacrificed for the Holy Grail of vaccines.

4 reasons. No one really wants lockdowns and the harsh restrictions but 3 types:

1) They are happy to WFH and spend extra time with families So will accept the trade off of not going out.
2) Those on the dole. Rather than cast out into the brutal job market they have their payments doubled and could put away a bit. Options limit without work so lockdowns neutral.
3) Those who love to enforce rules. Makes them feel superior and they can act the matyr and hero without having to do anything.
4) The paranoid. SRP types that actually believe going outside is deadly. (These are the minority as the vast majortiy couldn't give 2 shits about the virus but are happy with the above for the first 3 reasons).

Than the distinct tiny minority. Calling out the bullshit for what it is.

Combined together why it won't go away. Already voted on Qld = gov returned, WA= Slam dunk Vic= Not till end of 22 but will win again.
Only NSW appears shaky and they've minimised disruption without full scale catastrophe so go figure.

I think what is mind-numbing is nearly 12 months after “2 weeks to flatten the curve” and all this govt can come up with is “ah let’s lock down again” bc the only game plan has been wait for the vaccines.

But now Dandemic starts to cast doubt over the vaccines (people refuse to recognise how this doesn’t just change the goalposts but takes them away completely) and we will need to still social distance and wear masks
Then there are ‘new variants’ already being spoken about will need more, new and improved vaccines.

So basically there is no way out of this, we are setup for a perpetual lock down strategy and the govt can keep doing this.
