Yeah maybe. I myself am more interested in the Psychology behind this. Maybe its a hangover from the 2018-19 period. No way this sh*t would've flown in Melbourne 10 or even 5 years a go. But somethings snapped in our collective psych.
As for the rest of the country from a Vic perspective don't even know why your premiers are worried. Sparse population density, warm climate and social dynamics the Black Plague would struggle to spread in. WA baffles me. Your premier has been handed an election by playing to your secessionist crap. Odd. Yet great lifestyle so fair play. Shut down mining thou and see how it flies then.

Bit hard to lose when the opposition leader quits a few months before because they’re gutless and afraid of humiliation and then replaced by a young Liberal with a few years experience and clinging to a 0.8% vote in his own seat from the previous election.
Covid 19 is not something to dismiss and pretend it’s not a threat to Australia’s financial well-being.
If minesites in WA had of all been shut down last year because of an outbreak, the entire country would be screwed by now.
