Doubt the social distancing and masks have made much of a difference tbh We are lucky we're an Island at the ass end of the world and live in a safe and healthy environment and have always practice clean hygiene.New global coronavirus cases nearly double in two months
The number of new coronavirus cases around the globe has almost doubled over the past two months, an alarming increase that the World Health Organisation said on Friday (Saturday) was nearing the pandemic’s peak infection rate.
“This is approaching the highest rate of infection that we have seen so far during the pandemic,” he said.
“Some countries that had previously avoided widespread COVID-19 transmission are now seeing steep increases in infections.”
Case numbers have spiked in nearly all regions, with larger outbreaks gripping Brazil, India, Poland, Turkey and some other countries.
In the seven days ending April 11, global cases rose by 11 per cent compared to the previous week, according to the WHO.

Scientists are also worried about the arrival of the new variant from India, which has a mutation that may make it more able to evade the body’s immune responses.www.theage.com.au

I have no problems with hygiene + being a bit of a loner I can live with social distancing from strangers(except at the footy) but masks are an abhorrence, I would prefer to live dangerouslyDoubt the social distancing and masks have made much of a difference tbh We are lucky we're an Island on the ass and end of the world and live in a safe and healthy environment and have always practice clean hygiene.

Social distancing is something I can take to, and will be on the lookout for people coughing, sneezing, etc. What social distancing through has ever been policed or adhered too? It's a stupid rule always has been. I just shake my head at the idea. When I was at the footy last week there where signs everywhere telling people to social distance (Cricket bat length) yet everyone is sitting next to each other. Food, beer, coffee and toilet ques all packed like sardines, trains packed, train station platform packed, walking across the bridge and around the concourse of the stadium packed! Nobody is doing it and nobody ever was! It's just to difficult as simple as it sounds.
Its just stupid to think people will even try to practice it! Just a dumb government bureaucracy idea.
The hand sanitisers well.. Its good to have them around but I have hardly seen anyone actually use them.
As for masks the less I see of them the better I feel, always made me feel uncomfortable wearing them and with others around me wearing them hate not seeing other peoples faces. Really is unnecessary, If you are sick or have symptoms bloody stay home simple!
The military will be brought in to oversee Australia's rollout of the coronavirus vaccine.
Navy Commodore Eric Young will be appointed to manage the logistics of the program coordinating the supply and distribution of the jabs.

Not a good thing in my opinion.
If this pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that even colds can be avoided with social distancing, sanitising and even masks!![]()
New research on sustainability, commissioned by Mastercard, reveals a marked increase in consumer passion for the environment as a result of COVID-19.
More than half of those surveyed across the world (54%) see reducing their carbon footprint as more important now than pre-pandemic. This signals a growing trend toward eco-conscious spending and consumption among people who want to turn their purchases and rewards redemption into meaningful action for the planet.
Exactly how most of us in this thread are feeling about this whole experience.
Except that it hasn’tPeople are still getting sick, I know someone who got the regular flu (he got tested). I've had more colds than usual in the past year. The only thing that has changed is that nobody has died from the flu since they started testing people for covid. It's almost like the regular flu has just been rebranded...
. There were just over 21,000 cases of flu (lab confirmed) and less than 100 deaths in 2020, compared to over 300,000 in 2019, and over 700 deaths. That’s a significant drop.
.I Haven’t been a big fan of his but lately Bill Maher has exposed a lot on what has been going on in America especially from the loopy left. This his take on how Covid has been handled in America. Apart from sticking the boot into Trump a few times in that clip I say good on him for telling it for what it is, as well as speaking out against the msm on how they’ve handled and reported on COVID.

I know of people who got it, and colds, but I haven’t had a bad cold since 2016 - which incidentally I caught at Whitten Oval the day after the Grand Final! No social distancing that weekend! It was worth it.
