I might agree with the last sentence but nothing else. Trump is 74 this year to Biden’s 78, to suggest one is senile and the other compos mentis is laughable. Particularly when the 78-year-old looks significantly healthier. Also, if you’ve ever watched a Trump press conference, he meanders, talks nonsense, forgets key points...the only difference is that his policies and attitudes are extreme while Biden’s are at least centrist.
Biden looks MUCH older mentally. I dgaf about trumps diet/health, he doesnt play for the team i go for, what do i care what he eats. The fact that 2x retirees are running for president is an issue, but Biden isnt well. No chance he makes it through a term, or maybe thats their plan? Just replace him soon?

Bernie possibly would have been equally bad fir different reasons. I agree with him more than the other 2 on some key points, but his socialist attitude isnt real world thinking. Waving college debt?! Who pays for it? How about dont waste money on pointless degrees then expect handouts. US politics is a joke anyway, 2024 will be The Rock vs the 'cash me outside' girl voted on instagram live and tiktok

Trump, for his faults is clearly the better option. Biden has later stage dementia, cant string sentence together. Hes forgetting key words when he talks, and hes 187 years old, that cant win. How it came to that being the best option, well that just sums america up. ******* lunatics

Yep, because decent health care and education systems have never been used anywhere else in the world... Bernie and co only get called socialists to scare people and the only reason it sticks is because on most of these issues the US is decades behind the rest of the world.

And as mentioned before, have you seen Trump at all during his term? Slurs words, forgets his point, rambles about nonsense and in general is as petulant as an adult can be. Biden seems to be losing his marbles, true, but Trump is no better. And that's ignoring that Don is just a flat out campaigner of a bloke.

Fair chance neither survives the 2020-2024 reign. The US will be in full disarray by then, paving the way for

Hope the US rioters are social distancing whilst rioting, or there could be a few less Dem votes because of either incarceration, curfews, isolation or general ill health.

The massive protests sweeping across U.S. cities following the police killing of a black man in Minnesota have sent shudders through the health community and elevated fears that the huge crowds will lead to a new surge in cases of the coronavirus.
Some leaders appealing for calm in places where crowds smashed storefronts and destroyed police cars in recent nights have been handing out masks and warning demonstrators they were putting themselves at risk.
“If you were out protesting last night, you probably need to go get a COVID test this week,” Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said Saturday evening.

And not to forget any agent provocateurs, RWNJ and mercenaries involved in the front line of current US rioting to delib stir up/inflame.

Brazil is toast.

470k cases from 930k tests. Actual cases would be astronomically higher.

Fills in that last outlier of the World Military Games nations top nations too. They were unrepresented for ages, probably just due to lack of testing.
Test numbers from some countries are unreliable as the case numbers but those at least look in the ballpark. Algeria's covid-19 cases overtook its reported number of tests a week or so ago.

It's insane that they let anybody 70 plus run a country. They are stuck in their ways, complain about everything and are probably going to leave the nuke codes in their spare pants. Enjoy your retirement you Ego driven maniac's.

I get the feeling no one actually knows how to handle the public transport issue.
I think Victoria is watching very closely the other states that are easing restrictions quicker and preparing for challenges accordingly.

And you’re right trains in particular will be too hard to enforce carriage limits. Plus no ones gonna want to be packed in like sardines ever again.

Will be another blow to our roads when uni students go back.

No one will want to wait and extra 20-30 minutes for another train. Even longer if it's a bus.

Queenslanders able to move around Queensland freely as of midday tomorrow.

State of Emergency in Victoria extended until June 21.

Interestingly, the massive 12 court indoor basketball stadium and gym complex we have, have announced they are reopening on June 22nd.
I haven't seen an official announcement on sport and rec, aside from the cautious "if things go well, these can re-open from June 22" message from Dan Andrews a couple of weeks ago.

Community centres allowed up to 20 people per space. So I guess you could argue the complex is a community centre and 1 court is a space.

It finished on May 11 so how can it be extended.

Don't they go to bed at 5pm?

It can be extended for up to 6 months.
It's a cash grab via fines after telling people to remain working from home if they have already been doing so and for businesses to not tell employees to return to work, there is no other reason to extend the SOE other than to issue fines for a fine hungry state like Victoria.

No surprise to read the other day that Victoria has fined 3 times as many people as any other state over this virus.

Don’t you think they’d get more money from economic activity to generate things like stamp duty and GST than fines would ever bring in?

You would think but then again if it is not about the fines then why did Jenny Mikakos mention it.

Ms Mikakos also warned Victoria Police would continue to issue fines if breaches of the new restrictions occurred.

“We don’t want to see people being fined, we want everyone to embrace these legal directions.”

The extension is 100% about the fines which i might add are the highest in Australia and have been issued at triple the rate of any other state.

It was a warning for people to follow the rules. It’s not realistic to believe they are trying to generate income from fines over normal fees and taxes from a fully operating economy. They’d probably make more from speeding fines on a normal day.

Not sure to post here or in the things that piss me off thread.

Just drove up to Sydney and back. Friday night stop in Albury and park at HJ's to make some calls. Spend 45mins juggling phone/tablet/notepad figuring out what order to do visits and drive time between them for the following day, and trying to not drop stuff or toot the horn. Go in to buy a coffee and lo, behold! this is in NSW and the dining room is open, could have spread my s**t out and done it in comfort.
