Coronavirus and Football

This season there's a much stronger case to call an * than last season IMO. Pool were already Champions-elect when the virus hit. This season the entire comp is distorted.

There's only * next to seasons severely disrupted by the virus. It'll be BAU again in a couple of seasons. Until then it could be 2-3 * seasons

Every season will have players getting coronavirus (usually contracted at home or from their social circle) for a long time to come. PL clubs have the best infection control and regular testing - hence why there's such a low rate of positive virus cases in it.

Italy's a bit of a disaster, everyone loves socialising at the cafe including players and their families. As long as that continues they'll get plenty of positives. England the players keep to their families more so not so much of a problem.

It's just part of the game now and clubs will have to learn to deal with it with player unavailability when it happens.

There's a huge * on last seasons final results. There is absolutely no way we qualify for the Europa League if the season wasnt put on hold. As said at the time the * isnt one on Liverpool specifically or solely but on the entire league standings.

This season even more so. Especially if there's another lockdown during winter up there

Yeah nah you've thrown out bait plenty of times suggesting their title is an * and it's pretty boring.

I stand by my point that the whole season is an *

Said it at the time that my club will benefit as much if not more than anyone by the season going on hold with 2 months to go. We are in Europe because of the 19/20 EPL Season*

And the league title for the 19/20 EPL Season* was Liverpool. There's no asterix next to their name as champions but the season has to and does have one next to it because of the crazy circumstances it got finished under.

COVID cost cutting just got real.

After 27 years service Gunnersaurus has been sacked at Arsenal.

Although there is hope

Quite ridiculous that international football is happening right now. Massive threat to domestic leagues and communities that hundreds of footballers are flying all over the continent.

Testing. He should have it within 5-7 days so he can be tested a few times well ahead
14 days is the minimum wait, you could have it but get a negative result before that.

Completely agree, utter stupidity

Isn't 14 days the maximum incubation period?

Close contact is someone defined as face to face contact fo 15 mins in an indoor setting (not going to be the case for footballers) or 2 hours in the same room.

None of those happens with club football but who knows what happens during international football, whether they all get together and have a drink after training (they really shouldn't be).

Incubation times:

.

Mean incubation period is 4-7 days.

I doubt Tierney will require a 14 day quarantine period unless he's been spending a lot of time indoors in the same room with Armstrong.

Tierney wouldn't be isolating now if he hasn't already been deemed to have been in close contact.

Current government advice is that if anyone is in contact with a person that has tested positive then they need to self-isolate for 14 days irrespective of any negative test.
