Qatar has one of the highest case rates per capita, but I suspect many of those are foreign workers who live in cramped, dirty conditions.Qatar 2022 World Cup is going to be interesting to say the least. If anything, the Covid 19 crisis makes it far more likely that it will still go ahead there, that region seems relatively untouched by the Coronavirus compared to say the USA (which would be the only viable alternate host at this stage)
FIFA really lucked out by having it there (even if they won the rights for all the wrong reasons)
If they tested positive on international duty they would have been iinfected a week or so earlier wouldn't they?Last quarter of last season was so much better in terms of covid. No international breaks & associated travel, no players going away on holidays, socialising and contracting coronavirus.
The PSG story is ridiculous. Neymar and half the squad partied it up in Ibiza where people from all over Europe come to holiday. Catching covid seems inevitable under those circumstances. Over 6 of them got it at once, luckily for them it only affected the first game of the season.
We have copped Tsimikas & Keita both getting it on international duty. Sadio / Thiago too but they are now thankfully recovered.
If they tested positive on international duty they would have been iinfected a week or so earlier wouldn't they?
Keita left a week ago, the median incubation period is 4.9 days after infection (that includes people who could have tested earlier for the virus but didn't). It was picked up on international duty, he would've been tested the morning after the Villa game. Wifey's friend in contact tracing here says that most positive cases come up with symptoms within 4-7 days of infection generally. Longer incubation periods do happen but are not the norm.
If he had contracted it a few days before Villa it wouldn't have showed up on a test, so I don't think you could say one way or another where he got it.
International football at the moment is ridiculous, but I'd say it's just as likely he caught it in Liverpool as on international duty.
Would have been tested the day after the Villa game prior to international travel. Also incubation periods of 1 day are quite common with covid.
Genomic sequencing will tell the story in comparison to the 4 other positives inside the Guinean camp but its very unlikely this was caught anywhere else but on international duty.
It's unlikely if you steadfastedly ignore any possibility that it ight not have been caught on international duty.
Being tested the day after the Villa game means nothing. You can have it for over a week without it showing up on a test.
If you define unlikey as ignoring any possibility than yes.
Considering Keita was testing negative daily up until a week ago and 4 others from Guinea were positive it doesnt take a rocket scientist to conclude what the likely source of infection is in this case.
Suggest you look up mean incubation periods for covid. Incubation periods over 7 days are uncommon.
It's just guesswork. You could also say theres been quite a lot of infections in Liverpool (club and town).
So could have been infected up to a week before his last negative test. At my work (in acc with government guidelines) we'll ignore a negative test taken up to 14 days from contact with an infected person.
The 14 day guideline is for close contacts only. As Keita has had regular testing and monitoring for sysmptoms right up until a week ago and the fact that 4 other Guinean players are positive at the same time when they are all together suggests that the likely source of infection is the international trip away. Thats not to say anothee scenario isnt impossible.
14 days is for anyone that doesn't have symptoms.
I think you've missed the point but never mind.
4 peru players tested positive. what a rampant success international football has been. for the virus
who could have thought that playing international football in the middle of a pandemic, could possibly back fire
