I doubt this. Did vaccines even exist when the constitution was written? I'll have a skim through the constitution later to see if there's anything that could be interpreted this way.
Australia embraced vaccination procedures much earlier than many other countries4. Smallpox vaccine was imported in 1803, just five years after the publication of Jenner's monograph. The vaccine was produced in Sydney in 1847 and in Victoria in 1882 and used to curtail outbreaks in this country'.

Vaccines have been around > 1000 years. The Chinese had vaccines a loooong time ago.

"That method involved grinding up smallpox scabs and blowing the matter into nostril. Inoculation may also have been practiced by scratching matter from a smallpox sore into the skin."

As some of you might have read in another thread, I am currently in Royal Melbourne Hospital due to a massive saddle pulmonary embolism. Doctors believe it began with urology surgery I had on May 18. I asked about having my first A/Z injection eight days later and if that might have had something to do with the clot but they assured me it didn't especially since a clot caused by the vaccine would have manifested sooner and most likely in the brain. Just worried me a bit. I feel better now. They said it's safe for me to get the second jab on the 18th.

Might have to enter rehab due to theclot and my ongoing neurological disease. I should find out in day or two. I'm just glad to still be alive. I thought that I was dying last Wed evening. I guess I'm destined to be around for Premiership #3 in eight weeks or so. Unfortunately Lucky Meals are on hold for the time being.

Maybe the hospital meals will be lucky for both your recovery AND some wins. If an anonymous stew followed by jelly and blancmange work for you, the team can’t do less than keep winning. All the best!

Geez Chicago, get well soon, glad you are in the right place to get care.

It‘s probably not my place to say, but I can’t help feeling that the pickled squid salad might have something to do with this.

TV News should be rated on truthfulness. SkyNews can be a Pinocchio.
The irony is they avoid provisions under the media codes of conduct by only broadcasting 'opinion' after 6pm, which means they don't have to comply with accuracy and fairness requirements on news broadcasters (although accuracy and fairness requirements for media are pretty weak).

FWIW the SBS code has stronger requirements, while the ABC is subject to the ABC Standard and is far more stingent.

We knew that Delta was more contagious but it is being reported as more severe too, contrary to earlier expectations. It also has more impact on children.

Note: These are not all definitive peer-reviewed studies yet but it’s the view of several well-regarded specialists in the field.

I will be there again this evening, it’s good to get out of the house. When there are 4 people there (space for a hundred pre-covid), it is nice and quiet.
We were talking about Sky News, not the evening programs. Sky programs at night are just opinion pieces. Some opinions I agree with, some I don't. Some ABC opinions I agree with, some I don't.

Of course they are conflated. What's your point? One lead to the other. However we had vaccines before the constitution was drafted.
