Without fans, it’s nothing really.
THE GP in particular could get away with it. The bulk of their money comes from europe and broadcasting there. 90% of the fans live over there, hence the race being moved back a few hours to accommodate them. Bahrain's decision to race without crowds looks like a good call in hindsight, but with that scheduled for next weekend, those who are quarantined here already will have to miss that event also.

You're not infectious until you have symptoms, I believe.

“It seems that the virus can pass from person to person without symptoms, making it extremely difficult to track, regardless of what health authorities do,” specialist in cellular microbiology at England’s University of Reading, Dr Simon Clarke said.

You’re clearly doing as you’re told and doing the right thing. However if everyone takes off two weeks every time a friend of a friend shared a banana with Tom Hanks surely the whole country will be effectively shut down for 6+ months.

My plan would be to lock all young, fit and healthy people in Marvel Stadium and infect every one of them. They sweat it out for 2 weeks and that’s them immune.

Might as well crack on with the footy season while we’re all in there too. The attendance figures would be fantastic!
Immune? There’s been reports of people getting re-infected

If they didn't develop an immunity there would be no opportunity to be "re-infected" because they'd have never recovered from the initial infection. Right? Unless it's rapidly mutating which I don't think is typical for a corona virus.
Don’t know mate this whole virus is hurting my brain. Read so many different reports don’t know what to believe it’s fcked

Hopefully people won't get reinfected, but in theory they could have enough immunity to get over it then get reinfected, like with cold viruses etc - but would think that is unlikely

Many reports of people who are not showing symptoms and spreading the virus.
Then how do they identify them?

The Health Minister doesn't want people presenting for testing who don't have symptoms. Self-isolation first for 14 days. If during or after that time symptoms appear, that's when you get tested.

Some people think it’s all an over reaction and that we should all carryon regardless. They say it’s only the elderly and ill people dying, so who cares. Just like the US government.

IF they are that confident, then I hope they book one of the cheap flights to US.

I hope you survive and grow mentally and spiritually from your experience.

The Chinese didn’t follow this process and they have it under control. I think they have covered up lots of cases but their method is right. Do we want to beat this OR just delay it?

We need mass testing, quarantine and lots of new treatment centres. We need to start setting them up now. It’s not rocket science.

Unfortunately our medical system is chronically underfunded, due to constant tax cuts instead of reducing hospital wait times. We also have few labs and it would take 2-4 weeks to create more BUT they aren’t opening new ones.

I'm all for cancelling the season if it means slowing the spread and not overloading hospitals/avoiding preventable deaths, but can anyone explain how the same thing could not be achieved by just having (admittedly weird as ****) empty-stadium games?

I'm not sure but it is inevitable that players/club officials will catch it and make a mess of the season anyway, regardless of crowds. Might as well just cancel everything now IMO but I guess there's no rush until games are due to start, besides stopping training.

You're assuming that clubs are immune to contagion.
