Most premiers have done well except the NSW one. I have liked her as a leader but she butchered this Ruby Princess debacle. That is as clear as day.
That one ******* boat screwed half the country. I think 20% of South Australian cases are directly related to the Ruby Princess and that figure will probably rise here and nationwide. And I'm yet to hear of any heads rolling and only hear blame games, Gladys, someone at NSW health or Border control should be gone after all this.

NSW 91 new cases
VIC 49 new cases

Would appear the border closing has slowed the case rate. Now to expand the testing and see how much damage community transmissions have done.

No hindsight was required for the the criticisms I outlined. Go back to the beginning of this thread, plenty of people were calling him stupid at the time for promoting handshakes, saying he was going to the NRL, the Hillsong and Ruby Priness debacles. He’s lifted his game but plenty of ordinary people, myself included, were taking this seriously well before Morrison. Who cares if posters on Big Footy aren’t treating it seriously, he’s supposed to be a bit better informed than them.

As for many of the premiers, it’s been their clear communication that has set them apart from Morrison, who really sent mixed messages. You could argue it’s easier for a premier as each state is akin to a country in Europe whereas as Morrison is dealing with the ‘continent’. But again, it’s on him that he hasn’t been able to get that message across clearly. For a marketing guy, he’s been outperformed by the likes of McGowan, Andrews and Gutwein.

I disagree with you that he has been unclear in his communication.

He has said stay home, don’t socialise, exercise social distancing and exercise common sense.

Furthermore, it is unsurprising that people were calling him stupid for not taking certain action when posters such as yourself say so. This is because they don’t like him.

The constitution is drafted in such a way that many laws must be enforced by the states and territories rather than the national government. This is unprecedented. This is not like a world war where the government can simply send over the troops on behalf of Australia.

For every poster such as yourself stating that he was too lackadaisical or cavalier at the start, there is another social media warrior complaining that was xenophobic or unAustralian for closing off borders to China or not helping Australians return to Australia after being warned to return to Australia for a month.

You really have no idea what you are talking about do you, you seem like you are the one that needs to understand economics particularly the 'Just in time' theory which most shops run on.

The system might produce plenty of food over a year but most of it is exported, only what we need goes to shops here the system isn't designed for everyone to horde months worth of food.

Nope.

Before it even gets to the store food is thrown out and wasted because we have a picky consumer.

Wastage is around 50%'
.
A lot of food in supermarkets gets shipped elsewhere because people don't buy it or world be thrown out. Despite this they still throw out about 10%.

You have no idea.

Gladys today just blamed the people on the Ruby Princess. You can't educate stupid.

So apparently the AFL is looking at June 11th for a start back date of the AFL.

How is this even possible with border control laws.
Are AFL kidding themselves?
a lot can happen in 2 months. they have to have a plan of some description. if they didnt youd probably be the first to criticise them for making things up as they go.

this. people are extremely wasteful. you just have to look at the quantity of bananas that get thrown away before getting to the shops because they arent the perfect banana shape.

people talk about not having enough food to feed the worlds people, which is bullshit. we know that there is more than enough food, its just that fat stupid countries (pretty much all of the developed world really, across all cultures) throw away so much food either before it even gets to shops, or after because they ordered 4 mains when they cant finish 1 just because they wanted to try some of everything.

1. In post#3654 (linked below), I outlined the start of an eventual multitude of private legal actions that have commenced against the Chinese govt. for its responsibility for the covid-19 outbreak- c. $20 trillion damages' claims, in the US alone, being made in 3 courts.

(Go to post #3654)

After the outbreak is basicly overcome (c. 12 months?), there will be massive national govts.' political & legal action for many years- with demands for full reparations, & health/wet market rectifications against the Chinese Communist Party for its covid-19 culpability.

Due to the above 2 types of legal action, "The CCP is waging a ferocious, global campaign designed to deflect blame for the origin & spread of covid-19...".

"Chinese officials knew of the seriousness of the pandemic as early as December...British scientists have argued that if Beijing had acted just 3 weeks earlier, it could have reduced the spread of the virus by 95%...up to 46,000 deaths in Wuhan alone...Xi's regime is a danger to the world...Beijing is actually reaping hundreds of millions in profits by selling equipment to panic-stricken govts. abroad. Much of that is useless and returned (all my emphases)".

China has also breached International Laws & Conventions. Nations will, obviously, demand action & reparations against the CCP- "for protecting against the next deadly pathogen".

2. To nullify the avalanche of legal & political action against the Chinese govt., the Chinese Communist Party is ramping up its implications & claims (again as recently as 1.4) that the US military was directly responsible for covid-19- & introduced it into Wuhan in late 2019.

The CCP is also claiming that it has been able to control, then eliminate, covid-19 because it will claim its communist political system is superior to democratic systems. China will also argue, to gain political advantages internationally, it can help (with doctors & medical supplies etc.) covid-affected countries to recover from covid-19.

World politics is undergoing a permanent paradigm shift. The Chinese Communist Party propaganda campain will be unrelenting- & possibly become even more outlandish (with more repression inside China- jailing, executing/disappearing etc. whistleblowers).

Sure but in an epidemic you don’t let cruise ships dock let alone go into the community. Someone has to take blame for that and looking at the premier there mainly

Absolutely they need a plan, but with a flexible start date that will come to light with 3 or 4 weeks notice.

Noone has any idea how long we will all be impacted, and to place a date of June 11 on it at this stage is both bewildering and deluded.

It seems many cruse ships had been denied access to dock by the federal government. Four including Ruby Princess were allowed in but were heightened procedures invoked once the access was allowed.

The converse of this is cruse ships are out there just becoming CV19 disaster zones. They are still people even if they don't have the aussie passport

We haven’t even hit the peak of this thing yet so I think they are kidding themselves.
Still a couple of rough months ahead before we can even think about something like football.

Just another way for people not to get a refund in memberships.

I was calling Gladys stupid.

So according to the QLD premier the peak won't hit till September. So with five months to spare and little cases they can't contain it? Am I missing something? What the hell is happening here?

Fair enough misread it.

In terms of QLD think they’d rather be safe than sorry in terms of preparing people.

Might not hit*

Let me guess, news.com.au neglected to add the might?

I'm still flabbergasted Clarkson attended the Essendon V Freo game.

The world was (and is) falling apart, we were urged to stay at home and he decided to attend a game he really didn't need to. Ordinary form by a bloke that should know better.

I like seeing the positive test results trend down but I feel it means little unless they publish the total number of tests completed every 24 hours also.

Say yesterday was 120 positive from 2000 tests but today was 91 positive from 1000 tests, means no bueno?
Also tests are not 100% reliable, many ppl have tested negative and have had the visus.
