Left his house once, sat on the other side of the table from one mate for a beer and a chat, washed his hands three times, and that was enough. Yep. Reports today about how many hospitalised cases in the US are middle-aged and under 50. The idea that we’ll all ride it out and just need to stay away from our older relatives is falling apart fast.

Agree. But that’s on the lack of leadership from the government. The casino only closed today, schools are still open and public transportation is operating as normal. Oh and they let a ****ing cruise ship dock in Sydney. The 1 person per 4 meter rule was only announced yesterday afternoon....after that photo was taken.

Interesting that you should mention other factors.

There are still large scale religious gatherings happening amongst Muslims in south east Asia (and probably other religions as well) and participants when asked they’re defying govt instructions about mass gatherings said they are more worried about offending god than catching the virus. I am at a loss FFS

Blame the state government’s and councils for the screwups with the cruise ship, casino and Bondi. They are the ones responsible over controlling those facets.

The schools and public transport remaining open is based on advice of Australia’s best medical minds. I don’t agree with it, but I’m not an expert either.

The leaders and ministers are a part of a national cabinet featuring medical officers and state and federal leaders from both parties, with advice being provided by the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee consisting of medical experts. Morrison and Murphy are lightning rods for criticism, some of which have been legitimate criticisms and some not so much.

I thought that I was pretty straight forward. The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee is offering advice directly to the national cabinet. You would assume that they taken on a few bits of advice from them, but I'm not sitting in on the national cabinet.
