The only two common symptoms of sickness this virus doesn’t have are sneezing and diarrhoea. Which makes the toilet paper situation even dumber

I just saw a 70 year old woman use her fingers to make a cross and shoved them in a young Asian girls face and say “Asians stay away”.

Seriously what the f... is wrong with people.

Yeah know she may have been older than 70, unless of course she told you. Sometimes elderly people lose filters, it happened to my Ma. I mean I quite enjoyed it tbh.

Senility?

Without taking serious social distancing steps apparently current modelling for Victoria has 120,000 new cases per day in 10 weeks time, with 13,000 requiring hospitalisation. I'd expect school closures, working from home where possible and other major steps to be mandated from next week.

Just lucky our wonderful hospital workers are immune to his virus. We get 120k per day and them wheels are coming off and it will be every man for himself. **** me I remember the Black Saturday fires around where I currently reside and yes they were getting close, I tell ya it was far more dangerous on the road than near the fires.
Absolute panic, FMD may have to top up the beer fridge.

Head for the hills I think, oh am already here

So basically, you take blood from people who have killed off Covid19 via their own AB immune response, isolate the relative antibodies, expand the population in some form of bioreactor and inject it in to people who have not caught the virus, or are infected and need treatment.

Thought I read somewhere (maybe someone posted it here) that a country was already trialling this on their citizens and it was working? Maybe it was S.Korea or Japan?

If they can isolate the antibodies in a pure form, then there's no reason it wouldn't work.

With the primary aim protecting broadcast funds in the wake of lost game-day revenue, 7NEWS understands the key measures include:

  • Forcing teams to play 4-5 games in a three-week period
  • Squeezing the fixture to play all 198 home-and-away games either side of an expected break- why not?
  • Shortening games, adding rotations and extending the interchange bench to combat fatigue- sounds like we're prepared to compromise the integrity of the comp- oh wait , that's not news
  • Expanded lists with players sourced from a possible mini-draft or more supplemental signings- We don't have that many spare AFL footballers hanging around, and if they haven't done a pre-season, not much value.
  • Informing players they must stay home from university and study online- That's not far off being announced for all students at University
  • Promoting good hygiene and social distancing to limit the spread- good hygiene is always a good idea

Gerard Whately suggested basically playing footy seven nights a week until the break comes as it is purely a TV product and no need to factor in crowd convenience. I think that is reasonable.

Yeah but how many games would any team be expected to play? A game a night would be a ratings winner for tv. But you may want to turn up the volume

The broadcasters could put a crowd track over the the broadcasts in the way American sitcoms have a laugh track.
You could possibly squeeze 4 rounds into 3 weeks.

Is this a picture of Collingwood fans fighting over who is going to steal the last car in the car park?
