At the risk of again invoking Trump, he has now put US funding to the WHO on hold until they can review their role in what he has stated was "covering up" the spread and impact of COVID-19. I can't see defunding a global health organisation being helpful in the long run, regardless of your politics

Agreed. I haven't seen any concrete stats yet but apparently the US gives them $500 million in taxpayer money. China $40 million.

$500 million and if they covered for China and cost lives they need to get their house in order. I wonder what a hit like that would mean for WHO (loss of jobs or will other countries, rich people pick up the tab).

He is pushing for schools to stay open only as an avenue for those parents who are unable to look after their kids at home. He is not urging every kid to go back to school. He has the capacity to leave his kids at home to learn, especially considering the baptist school system that his kids attend have been closed for a decent period. The twitter headline is utter bullshit and deliberately misconstrued to promote the division agenda that some of the media have been pushing for weeks.

Schools are a state responsibility and he’s left it to the states to manage them on their terms.

I’m not sure whY mike skinner pissed you off so much but personally I think he should be left out of it.

The press conferences have been fairly dull and he isn’t the best orator in the world, which makes it even harder.

The schools stuff has been largely consistent. The states do what they want and the medical advice is to reduce classroom numbers, but keep schools open for those who have no choice. I don’t see the hypocrisy in Morrison keeping his kids at home.
