I have what I suspect is a mild dose of the flu. I have self-isolated myself since Saturday. This morning the Govt. COVID hotline rang out, by late morning it had crashed and now one gets an engaged single. One has to laugh.
And that George Soros isn't the cause of everything bad in the world.
I get that people who are emotionally insecure and unworldly ( Groin guru ) like having a boogieman - or boogiemen! - they can blame things they don't like and don't understand on, that's human nature, we've been inventing them since we descended from the trees, but surely serious people don't take this shit to heart?
Just as she's walking in:Hoping some of you maybe able to help out. Have a co-worker who returned from holiday in Singapore and Malaysia last week. Was meant to return to work today, but agreed to work from home until 14 days after she returned. Just overheard the boss on the phone, saying to her that if the remote access IT wasn't working then he's OK for her to come in to work tomorrow, to which she agreed. The rest of us aren't particularly thrilled with this development....
Does anyone know what the rules now are re self isolation - does this apply retrospectively, or only to people that are now coming into the country? Prior to this declaration, there were some countries already on a do not travel list - were Singapore and Malaysia on that list? Did that mean people who were travelling back from there needed to self-isolate?
Thanks.

Technically your boss isn't breaking the law as the measures came into effect from midnight last night. But ethically they are being ****ing stupid and should be pulled up on this. I would suggest HR or the union should be briefed on this development.Hoping some of you maybe able to help out. Have a co-worker who returned from holiday in Singapore and Malaysia last week. Just ask your boss if he’s done the cost analysis one person staying at home for two weeks vs the company, with rolling time off for the next two months. I’m sure he’ll understand.Hoping some of you maybe able to help out. Have a co-worker who returned from holiday in Singapore and Malaysia last week. I’ll have you know that my brain was cooked offline.Cooked online brain can't handle a complex real world event.
Hannah Arendt, famed Jewish, German philosopher wrote a great book called eichmann in Jerusalem The banality of evil.Soros...good guy.
Hilary Clinton's biggest donor.
Rap sheet as far as the eye can see. People can google him for themselves to see all that he's been up to in his lifetime.
I mean nice guys go around with their dad at age 14 during WWII, pay off German officials to act like they aren't Jewish (changing from Soros -> "to soar") and then go help snitch and confiscate properties from other Jewish people. Then brag about it on 60 minutes. Good guy...
In 1998, CBS interviewer Steve Kroft asked him about his wartime experiences:
KROFT: You watched lots of people get shipped off to the death camps.
SOROS: Right. I was 14 years old. And I would say that that’s when my character was made.
KROFT: In what way?
SOROS: That one should think ahead. One should understand and—and anticipate events and when—when one is threatened. It was a tremendous threat of evil. I mean, it was a—a very personal experience of evil. . . .
KROFT: I mean, that’s—that sounds like an experience that would send lots of people to the psychiatric couch for many, many years. Was it difficult?
SOROS: Not—not at all. Not at all. Maybe as a child you don’t—you don’t see the connection. But it was—it created no—no problem at all.
KROFT: No feeling of guilt?
SOROS: No.
KROFT: For example that, “I’m Jewish and here I am, watching these people go. I could just as easily be there. I should be there.” None of that?
SOROS: Well, of course I c— I could be on the other side or I could be the one from whom the thing is being taken away. But there was no sense that I shouldn’t be there, because that was—well, actually, in a funny way, it’s just like in markets—that if I weren’t there—of course, I wasn’t doing it, but somebody else would—would—would be taking it away anyhow. And it was the—whether I was there or not, I was only a spectator, the property was being taken away. So the—I had no role in taking away that property. So I had no sense of guilt.
