The current neo-liberal model, yes.

It died in 2008 but was made into a zombie with cheap money and QE, everyone knew that was just kicking the can down the road to the next crisis.

The next crisis is here.

And it is dying again.

I suspect we'll go back to a form of managed capitalism like we had post-war. Or maybe even some form of State Capitalism like they have in China.

But the current late stage neo-liberal model is dying before your eyes. Even Macquarie Bank can see it.
Fair enough, I get your perspective, and even if I disagree, I still appreciate you taking the time to reply.

A mate of mine once told me he thought we were 'on the brink of calamity', this was around 2014.

Six years on, are we any closer to calamity? I'm not so sure.

I reckon we can survive this as a global society. We're resilient enough.

But with the climate change effects, hmmmm.

What would Australia have done if the virus had hit in October? So infections peaking in the middle of bushfire season?

That would have been really ugly.

It seems it may actually only be a freeze in increases.

"The stimulus package will be worth a total of $607 million.

It includes a freeze on electricity, water, motor vehicle charges, emergency services levy and public transport fare increases, at a cost to the Government of $402 million.

Mr McGowan said it would be the first time in 16 years these costs to household bills would be fixed.

The fees and charges will remain unchanged until at least July 2021."

State has been in recession for half a decade. The fact that it has only happened now is the weird thing.

There is a story on news.com.au saying a cure has been found and trials will begin in Australia later this month.

Don’t know how true it is, but if you currently have HIV or Malaria you may already have the drugs at home.
based on Human Ethics and testing procedures it'll probably be ready by 2021

The amount of films that have been made about these guys is truly astounding. I wonder how many films have been made, criticising Far Left regimes, with substantially higher body counts?

Enough that they win academy awards.

337 reported cases and counting...

Bloody hell I just told my whole office and partner that we won't have bills to pay for a while thanks to WA.

Then spent 15 minutes explaining why it's in their best interest.

I don't know whether or not I should untell them just in case some of them go on a spending spree :drunk:

As far as wars go, it was essentially the last war between western powers...

Do you really think an American audience is going to sit thru a 3 hour epic of pol pot?

you might be able to chuck a Anglo reporter in like they did in ‘the last king of Scotland’ for relatability but otherwise hard to see saleability with a USA audience. Which ultimately is what Hollywood is.

Very cleverly done.

Where was that? Not doubting it btw, just interested.

Southern Italy. Small village. Germans had taken over food supply from small farms in area.

Last year of war as tide was turning in allies favour the Food supply was severely depleted.

No...If I was to truly dig deep into certain political subjects on this board, I would most definitely get banned. It’s the benefit of having the wrong opinions about stuff.

It's a con. You've dug deep enough to come across propaganda from the House of Coburg-Saxe-Gothe.

Can paper napkins be flushed down dunnies?

Managed to get 10 500 napkin packs but no Dunny paper in Greater Katamatite

Yes but flush two to three times while using. Don’t use a whole heap and then expect one flush to work.

Also depends on quality of tissue. The cheap home brand napkins are a bit easier to break down.

Happy flushing.
