You have to be brain damaged to read this and still say "he listens to the experts".

He's a dodgy businessman who ran for politics to increase his own brand awareness.

He's not a politician and when held up to the standards of a politician he frequently fails.

I take the vast majority of what he says to be him shooting from the hip having paid enough attention to look for an angle to play, and one he can make money off.

I posted an article before. There are international shortages of testing gear that affected the availability of testing kids. People who traveled and who are showing symptoms only, but we just got a major shipment
and we are ramping production of medical gear, so we may move to random testing sooner rather than later.
Yep, that's been widely reported. The point is that politicians and other VIPs are clearly being tested without the same criterion and barriers applying to the general public.

Just 1 in 29,000 Australians are a state or federal politician, yet 1 in 150 have tested positive. Yes they meet a lot of people, have pressed the flesh. So do people in other professions. They are clearly massively over-represented. Is it fair that they're being tested when the general public are being turned away? No but hardly surprising - the real issue here is that it suggests the number of cases amongst the general public is far, far higher than we currently know.

Politicians being prioritised is nothing new, sadly.

Is is 3/200 plus now re politicians testing positive.

If you look at raw numbers, they are testing positive at a high percentage of their cohort.

They shouldn't get special treatment but inevitable they will.

Well, they're the peoples choice after all. They chose them to be gods in the first place (or get fined for not choosing them :p ).

Welcome to democracy.:thumbsu:

A new ban on non-essential gatherings of more than 100 people indoors is effective immediately.

There goes the schools & uni's.

The federals will make the decision and the states will implement it.

No, the states are sovereign and autonomous in this matter (as Morrison acknowledged the other day).

It's why they've set up the special Cabinet.

It is unlikely one state will impose measures the others aren't, or against the express wishes of other states.

But they can and will do stuff if they think the Feds aren't acting quick enough or doing the right thing.

Most of them think Pell is innocent too, an interesting metric.
I don’t think there is much doubt he will be home for Easter. Really interesting case - I’m somewhat torn on what I think but my legal friends are all of the opinion the conviction was wrong. I’m a where theres smoke theres fire person generally but just don’t know what to think on this.

That was a good address..

Set out a clear path of action, with some pretty comprehensive detail. Enjoyed the whack on the panic shoppers hah. Glad they're not going the complete shutdown, gives a lot of business a better chance at survival.
