Wow, there are more haymakers being thrown in this thread than in Woolworths over the last pack of toilet paper. :stern look

On a more serious note... I don't get it, why not have each school have a class or two or whatever remain open for the kids of essential service workers and make the rest stay home.

Because that’s common sense

I haven’t read but I know that Gate turn over is a key facet of Clubs revenue and when us, Members and Coteries aren’t turning up compounded with a likely Recession where sponsor dollars retract to cut costs, we are in for a world of pain. Nothing in the past 7 days has changed my mind. Nothing.
So just to clarify your opinion - are you saying we’ll be in a world of pain that we can ultimately recover from or basically....goodbye north? 😢

Honestly don’t like it. She states not to draw comparisons to war but then used it as a platform to set her article up?

We don’t know hardship compared to our previous generations.

Thr war analogy is messy but the dire straits that we and other clubs are going to find ourselves in is something we can’t ignore

I am sitting well and truly on the fence because I can’t comprehend the worst case scenario

I suspect we will need to buy more than Raffle Tickets

Read Caros article

Doesn’t mention North

Think she raises some worthy points actually.
Yeah I actually thought it was a good article too but the reality is we’d be categorised as one of those vulnerable clubs so therefore wanted supporters’ opinions on our future after this. It’s worrying. I do agree with other posts that the competition is better for all clubs being in it, so hopefully mechanisms will be in place to assist everyone.

I am dreading watching our game. The lack of atmosphere without the Crowd from these first two games has seen me turn over. Probably be fine when it starts but as a neutral fan it’s been a chore

I think the expansion of Gws and Gcs was and still is unnecessary

I hope to one day realise how criticising rich people who have sick visions for human society, is in fact me running an agenda for rich people with sick visions for human society? Thank you JLG, You are a true political prodigy. I’m amazed that I stuck in your mind after our last encounter on this thread. I was willing to just put is beside me and continue talking footy on the other threads. I guess someone got a little rattled by people having different opinions on political issues.

I hope you understand it too.

Tas for PM.

All good👍, I know what you meant.

Didn’t know they banned the markets though. Be great if they used the same power as they did to shut down Wuhan

They have shut the down them down again.

I follow some interesting Chinese accounts on twitter - Carl Zha a good start.

They make an interesting point about the whole eating wildlife.

It is part of Chinese culture because famine is part of the Chinese psyche in a way we can't understand.

There were massive famines China in living memory, and localised famine right up to the Cultural Revolution and the 70s.

It's hard for us to understand, but the idea is you need to stay ready for when famine sweeps again.

I bought frozen last Sunday because we didn’t have any fresh veggies left in the shelves.

I hardly say I was a moron for doing that
My mother’s cousin owns a series of farms that produce fresh produce for Woolworths. They have put on a heap of new workers because the demand is crazy. There’s enough fresh produce in Australia, transportation just can’t keep up atm.

This would explain why Australians with a Chinese background are part of the panic shopping crew.

I did suggest that a little back....

It is a good idea tbh. Norway has done it and Tonya Plibersek has been in contact with her liberal opposition to push the very idea of a skeletal crew for kids of essential workers and the rest have online lessons. I really hope we are moving in that direction.

20/3/20 - +167 = +23.52%
19/3/20 - +142 = +25.00%
18/3/20 - +116 = +25.83%
17/3/20 - +77 = +20.37%
16/3/20 - +77 = +25.75%
15/3/20 - +49 = +19.60%
14/3/20 - +42 = +20.10%
13/3/20 - +50 = +31.45%
12/3/20 - +24 = +17.78%
11/3/20 = +20 = +18.69%
10/3/20 = +14 = +15.05%

K4E for PM :)

But yeah totally agree. There needs to be some (hate buzz words) fluid options going forward, seems practical to me.

Society has gotten a long overdue wakeup call.

Looks like Bondi Beach was the place to be yesterday according to news.com.au
Mostly millennials based on the footage. A wee bit disappointing.

I’m reminded of two quotes:
Hard times make great men, great men make good times, good times make soft men, soft men make hard times.

History is filled with the sound of silken slippers going downstairs and wooden shoes coming up.”

Tas for PM.

On his "No paedophile or rapist will ever be found guilty unless there were multiple direct witnesses to the crime" platform.

Let’s not go down that rabbit hole again.

Completely, and because they don't trust government to be truthful.
