Trainer of the mighty Vo Rogue!

I am also abhorred by the inhumane animal treatments that are prevalent throughout China and elsewhere, but to utilise that specifically as the cause of any zoonotic pandemic is disingenuous. You don't have to kill & eat an animal in order for this to happen.

Exactly. Horse owners around here deal with risk as part of their everyday living.

Wonder if those pesky renters can expect any relief?
Hopeful but not expectant. Good friend has been let go from work, no real prospects in the industry. She's tempted to pull the plug this week and move home with mum, instead of spending savings on rent and having that happen anyway.

She's also aware not everyone has that option. All a bit ****ed.

So one town in Italy is in very good shape.

Check out what happened in Vo.

Small town? Sure but this what works - testing and isolation.

In these circumstances losing tenants will mean they aren't replaced and the rents (which are astronomical elsewhere will plummet.) If people don't have money to pay rent landlords won't get their income.

If your real estate agency shuts except for minimal functioning no one will interview new tenants. Why put yourself at risk.

That alone could crash housing prices over the longer term.

How you going Grogg ?

Yeah we're ok Hoj.

Had a little scare the other night with my old Ma having a slightly elevated temp, but that was due to other factors.

I'm taking both hers and mine 3 times a day since then and we've been normal. I reckon the cough she's had has subsided a bit as well and it's more than likely a regular cold.

We've been advised by the GP and the National Covid19 hotline to quarantine anyway given our risk association, so we're gonna hole up for a few weeks, which shouldn't be too hard for a sickly hermit and an elderly invalid, haha.

I really appreciate the well wishes from all the North family on here too.

Some good people out there in BigFooty Land.

All the best mate. [emoji106]

Our house is in semi lockdown now with the kids and I having endured a week of high temps, relentless coughing and the like. Fortunately it’s included sneezing, which seems to rule out Covid-19, but Mrs Toes was struck down with it last night as well and she managed to get into Monash Med Centre today for the swab test. I’ve improved, as has my daughter, with the little bloke and missus struggling. I’m fairly certain it’s just been a bad chest infection but Mrs Toes’ test results will reveal the truth.

Being immunocompromised sucks at times like the present but we’re avoiding as many risk factors as possible.

Hopefully you guys just have a regular bug, as I suspect we do. Fingers crossed anyway! 🤞
You good TT?

It's a pretty tough time mentally as well as physically, so look after yourself.

Hope Mrs Toes and the Tiny Dancer are ok man.

Sending you my thoughts & best wishes.

Missed this...hope you are better
Didn’t realise removing ‘19’ was not the right time

I would actually argue that it's possible to become immune to Covid19 by eating denatured viral proteins that are present in animal meat.

Hence, my microwave your takeaway food tips.

Possibly yeah...

It's a form of inoculation I guess and that's the origin of vaccination.

I'd never thought of that.

I'm with you mate.
On average, around the world, a hospital bed is occupied 75% of the time.
90% in a place like Ireland. (https://www.oecd-ilibrary.org/sites/0d67e02a-en/index.html?itemId=/content/component/0d67e02a-en)
"High occupancy rates of curative (acute) care beds can be symptomatic of a health system under pressure, and may lead to bed shortages and higher rates of infection"

The current principle national objective is to slow progression of the outbreak in Australia and limit the burden on our health system by taking measures to reduce transmission.

Thanks mate. All good here. It’s amazing how much a negative test can put the pep back in your step.

I’ve spent the week working from home and trimming/mowing outside with the sun beating down while the inside of the house has resembled an ER ward.

Missus Toes is much better. She, the little bloke and I all still have the cough but far less so than a couple of days ago.

The little miss is 100% now she’s almost done with her full course of antibiotics. The little bloke’s a couple of days into his.

The coughing we have seems worse at night when sleeping and fine by day.

Taking the Steve Liebmann “be alert not alarmed” advice, sterilising the place daily and maintaining our distance. All good!

For me, like you, catching it at all is the major risk due to the pre-existing stuff, so I’m doing my best Clint Eastwood “stay off my lawn” impression.

Take care Grogg! [emoji106]

I can't recommend this video highly enough.

Forget all the woo woo bullshit you see in the media, this is a proper immunologist explanation of this virus.

If you are confused by some of the terminology, pause the video, ask a question, or look it up. Then when you come to terms with the concepts of the terminology, watch the thing all over again. It's the best clip on Covid19 that I have seen on the internet.
