When we first moved down there we were boring and stuck to the major roads. But now I zing out through Bales, come in at the back of Drouin and then bang a left at the Heyfield turnoff before Sale. A quick right left right, then bang the drum, hit the Bengworden Rd. and before we knew it, Roberts your mothers brother and we were at home. We did spend a bit of time flashing through Ripplebrook as well, a nice road to drive if you have, well, lets call it an Impreza 🙃
i actually go out past loy yang from firmans road, then back way into rosedale via flynn road, thats all been realigned so its a good drive, you then miss going through traralgon which is also crap.

Both what?
Both superpowers. One is an authoritarian state with no regard for anything other than it's own power. The other is a mish mash of federalism that is led by an administration ill equipped to handle something like this.

Do you think people would be blaming Obama like this?
Given the response that Obama got to wearing a tan suit, you can guarantee it.

What part of Trump's response to the virus, with the exception of the China travel ban, do you believe has been anywhere close to effective?

 Not this lot.

The Republican idiots on the other hand would be doing the exact same thing.

How could you possibly know this?

Were you privvy to the scientific recommendations, because you must be in order to claim "criminal negligence"?

There's nothing "stunning" about this article. It's more politically motivated click bait designed to rope in the likes of you.

so nothing can be written or asserted by anyone others than those there?

seem to be some pretty good inside detail that lays bare the negligence.

Obama took immediate steps and was willing to collaborate with global leaders during the GFC. It seems to be the more nationalistic Republicans who seem to be slower responding to crisis. Consider George WBush's administration's slow response to Hurricane Katrina and the New Orleans disaster.

Can't it be both?

Some horrendous cultural practices in China created a disease that was purposely overlooed by an authoritarian government and used that influence within the WHO.

Once it got to the US, it was mismanaged by the worst government in a long time. All parties have responsibility.
Agree.

you're kidding, right? they complained about him having dijon mustard at one point.

Wat grinds my gears is his press conferences that are a train wreck and have been for the past 4 weeks. It’s like listening to my drunk Uncle at 3pm on Xmas Day

As for the rest, well I don’t see the point of spending another day debating Donial; there is a myriad of news columns dedicated to the mess it is

I struggle to believe that there are people who think that Donald Trump, or any other politician for that matter, have the independent capability to make rational judgements with regard to this pandemic.

I am constantly surprised by the level of ignorance that is displayed by people these days. They hold such a simple view of the world, and yet truly believe they are in a position to make reasoned judgements at the same time.

Anyway.........

Facebook To Award Everyone Printable Medical Degree
April 6th, 2020

article-5913-1.jpg

MENLO PARK, CA—By popular demand, Facebook is awarding everyone a printable medical degree.

Medical degrees used to be hard to get, but now, all you need to do is comment your medical opinions on Facebook. Then, you'll automatically get a message with a link to your very own M.D. You can print it out and hang it on your wall. Then, when someone asks if you have any qualifications to back up one of your medical statements, you can just point to it and say, "Ya burnt."

"The biggest problem with our platform is many people comment on medical things but have no medical background," said Mark Zuckerberg. "Now, everyone on Facebook is officially a doctor. Problem solved."

People hawking essential oils or Plexus products on the internet with vague statements about gut health, fitness, and wellness, will now have the credentials to back their claims up. You'll no longer have to worry about your crazy friend who's always posting about "Big Pharma" and all actual medical advice being a hoax -- because now, he'll be a doctor.

Twitter is following suit, and everyone in the nation is expected to be a doctor by tomorrow morning.

Seems Victoria is keeping its population on a tight leash.

Other states less so.

Andrews is to be commended at this stage, but I would like to know his exit strategy.

I figure he has to wait on Morrison also, but surely they have discussed this?

When you have three million people in a state the size of India like WA, perhaps you don't need to be as tight. That said, Victoria and NSW still have the highest unaccounted for community transmission rates. We won't likely see a relaxing of restrictions until they can identify all of the carriers and unknown super spreaders who are out there unknowingly still infecting people or alternatively we get down to 28 days of zero new infections. Only yesterday it came to light that Vic Health had managed to identify a hospitality worker who'd unknowingly directly infected four known cases at different and unrelated locations. He was showing no outward signs of infection.

It’s seems they’re a bit half pregnant.

This will be over with months of ripping the arise out of the economy, with less clarity about how long it will go on for.

I’m no fan of Trump. Been very critical of him. Anyone that has engaged me on him knows this.

Why aren’t I allowed to include the travel ban? That’s just you trying to stack the cards for your argument. I’m not playing by your rules. That’s dumb

On a state by state basis the governments should station coppers 24 hours at every road at the borders, and monitor all incoming aircraft. Then when it is wiped out state by state we go in to a strict national quarantine strategy which has been similarly employed in the past. This is not that significant when weighed up against the current costs of the present strategy. Our geographical isolation gives us a significant advantage. All goods coming in by ship must be held up in our waters whilst biological crews go aboard and monitor the crew for infection. I very much doubt the virus would exist otherwise if they are all uninfected or immune.

As for airfreight, quarantine in bond stores and UVC sterilization treatments would suffice. It should only create a ~3 day delay. This is all very manageable, and much more cost effective than total shutdown.

Unfortunately, air and shipping crews must stay in quarantine and depart, unless they attain a medical clearing to be released in to the community.

Tourism will take a big whack unfortunately, and immigration is toast for a while, but with all of the unemployed created from this, we simply don't need it..

Are you referring to when he bailed out the banks and bankrupted his citizens in one of the worst cases of corporate socialism in recent history?
